Third JL, the issue persists. Clearly whatever manufacturing process is flawed continues to be.

On the other hand, I wonder if Jeep doesn't trust that dealers have capable techs who can handle this kind of fix?

with clear instructions, some folks might want to have a go at fixing it. I mean, it is indeed a safety issue.

I'll just pipe in on this as we're currently experiencing the great seattle snowpocalypse of '22, so I recall what visibility was like when I first drove through the mountains in my new jeep.
I bought the small plastic plugs & installed them..seems to alleviate all the issues & I'm happy with the results: highly recommend this as a viable solution to the lousy defroster design/output

Do you happen to have a pic of which slots you placed these plugs into?

sure, make me go out in 25 degree weather to take a picture...AS IF! ;)

I used 11 of the plugs: basically one in the direct center & then 5 to each side, with a "vacant" hole between each.

I probably could have continued further to the sides, but I figure I wanted to move some of the air to the sides, not move it & then block it again...play around & see what works best for YOU

I filled up 20 center defrost holes with those plugs and works good enough for now. (2020 JLUR here)

Thanks to a great Christmas gift from @elf883 of the diverters. I haven't been around to install them yet, but a super high quality print and can't wait to get them in, between the "plugs" and these "Diverters", it should be perfect now.

Thanks @elf883 for the great gift, I will get a picture on here soon.
