Wife is 5’4” and has trouble getting in our 4 door sport ecodiesel stock. I have a 4.5” Evo lift coming and 37” km3s. So I’m assuming an extra 5.5” of height.
Not your DD just make her hop up
Plus in your avatar you two are young

Planned on buying Rock slide power steps, but I’m cheap. Can afford them, but are they worth it? Won’t a $400 set of steps suffice? Wife wants power steps. I could put that money towards something else lol.
I find them gimmicky. You can also look at the new LOD's where you can get a easy to remove step for the wife's side that you remove off-road.

Haha. Well. Younger then me. Wife and I both 56. She would definitely prefer power steps like I have on my lifted GMC but these things are sooo expensive. Hop in honey :)

I have Rock Slide Engineering steps. My wife and I are over 70. The only problem I had with the slider is when the magnet moved on the door and the slider didn't go back up. Simple fix. My wife couldn't get in the jeep without the steps, period. I opted for the additional skid plate and plate under the doors. Once use these for a while it would be difficult to go back.

I was thinking the same but I think pretty much all of them will suffer failure sooner then later ... from what I read they are almost all made in china. I still will eventually want to install a set on mine and hope those spare motors are replaceable or what have u

Your wife is in your avatar. We all know you're going to do whatever she wants. Just do it.

I went ahead and bit the bullet and order the Rock Slide Engineering steps. Should get them in a couple days.

So I shouldn’t be such a cheap ass? Lol
Your not being cheap Robby. That's harsh. You're being frugal. Cheap is irrational lack of spending. Your willing to take the Mrs. needs into account but seek to weight the cost of the power steps with other things in life or on the JL.

I know a lot of folks think M.O.R.E hide-a-step(s) are over-priced, but I love them and they’re significantly less expensive than power-steps, however provide similar functionality AND they’re easy to detach when needed/off-road.

Main reason I went with them was that similar to power steps, they’re only visible (mostly) when needed and extend down + for 4 of them was roughly $500; however you could also just do 2 if needed. In the end, much cheaper than power steps, still maintain the stock look, works with Rubicon rock rails and are A LOT easier to install.
  • If I had gone power steps, I’d have done the kind for $1800 that can go off-road... I’m cool with using a spring vs. electric for a $1300 savings

Just installed the RSE with the extra armor. Wife absolutely loves them. Installed the 2.5” AEV lift also. She’s now in the Jeep before I am and will not have another Jeep without the steps. Happy wife, Happy life!

I like those for my wife's side. I'm getting a Willys with the rock rails. Seems like I can keep the rock rails? Not sure. Any idea if they can cohabitate so I can continue to cohabitate with the wife?
