The video showed him click unlock twice and they deployed, click lock twice and they retracted. Have you tried a double click?

No, I'll try when I get home. I didn't see anything about that, but I could have missed it. The directions were the typical loose English translation . . .

UPDATE: If you are outside and hit the unlock, the step lights come on and they go down. If you hit the lock button, they go back up. Hitting it twice didn't do anything different with mine.

Just installed a set of AMP steps on my 26 JLU. I had purchased the Soflo, but because of the new frame skid Jeep stated putting on the 26’s the front bracket wouldn’t work. I have used AMP in the past and been happy with them other than the fact they don’t have a front bracket. I had this same kit on my 23 wrangler, but AMP refresh is not really an improvement. The new motor hangs out below the steps and you can’t use an AMP override switch anymore. Does anyone have any ideas on how to create a bypass switch now that AMP doesn’t offer a solution?

If you have the AMP steps with the newer motor, download the AMP app on your phone. You can control them with the app. Mine aren't the "smart' version advertised that requires the app. Mine are the standard version, but uses the same controller that connected to the app. I can bypass the operation of my steps with the app.

I think this is something that AMP knows about, but doesn't advertise because they charge you more for the smart version.

Yeah, I agree. They can call the others a smart and charge more for it. Had I known the app was the only way to bypass I never would have purchased them. I like the bypass to quickly deploy the bars when the doors are off. Pulling phone from pocket or my wife digging for it in her purse to deploy the steps seems ridiculous. In the past I would just put the overuse on the dash and as you approach you tap the button and get in and then put then close them. I dont understand why they had to fix a problem that didn’t exist.

AMP Power Running Boards
I was planning to buy and install these. I noticed in reviews on Extreme Terrains website that a few people said the new ones do not work/fit correctly based on a recent design change (the $1,599 model). Has anyone else experienced this with AMP in the past few months?
I was set on AMP due to the OBD option because I do not feel like wiring each door with a magnet sensor, now I'm wondering . .

I have them on wife's jl and hate them pass side go up and down driving down highway. Already took 2 of 4 motors off. You only need 2 even on our 4 door.
