I changed the oil and fuel filter this weekend and couldn't help but notice the air intake looks like it seals to the hood and then I really can't tell how it gets fresh air through the hood gap?? The intake air looks very inadequate especially if you are tuned and deleted...IMHO.

I’m in knoxville. What trails do you like here in TN?

That was at Nemo Tunnel. I also like Royal Blue up north of the city (can go see the elk while out there), various fireroads in the Smokies, and Windrock of course. There's some running down NC that take you to Cattaloochee (more elk). I haven't tried Hurricane Creek in NC, but want to do that soon.

as far as i know all Mojaves are gassers, so the air intake is on the opposite side of the Diesel. would take a good bit of plumbing to make that work.

i've seen the inside of the hood of the 392, but was so distracted by what a freakin' heavy monster that hood is that i don't remember which side the air intake is on.
I would merely like the aesthetic of this hood, and hopefully functional with the oem intake. I had not realized that Mojave did not come with the EcoDiesels, I would have thought they might have toward the later models.

Does this mean, without custom work that it's not really viable?

Intake is on the driver's side same as the diesel but it has a completely different airbox set up to sync up with the hood

Like I said prior, I would be careful about ram air intakes on the EcoDiesel. I'd hate to see someone waste all that money on a setup just to find out it throws a code and you have to undo it all and lose all your money and the time it took you to set it up.

I would read through this one if I were you...

It's pretty straightforward, ram air intake causes engine to throw a code, and the fix is turning the snorkel around, thus no more ram air intake.

Went through that thread and several others as well.

We havent had a single complaint from any of our diesel H.E.R.O. Hood customers to date.

I suspect the difference here is that the snorkel creates a closed ram air system while ours is "open".

The ram air opening on our hood drops into the factory pre chamber between the air box and fender allowing the engine to suck in as much of the cooler air as it wants as opposed to a snorkel where the air is forced directly into the air box regardless of the air flow the motor is trying to ingest.

Shad Road is pretty good. Have done Hurricane Creek twice and it's getting very rutted. Last time we went there was a pop up shower that made the trail miserable.
