Does anyone know of a non-dealer company that will cut JL keys using a blank that is close enough to the key used in the factory Fob that it fits in a Threedom Key Holder?
I should elaborate: I can get the key copied by a locksmith who has one of those laser engravers that cut the key for Wrangler, the problem is that the blanks they tend to use in my experience have at their base two prongs that don't fit into the Threedom holders. For example, I can all but guarantee you that if you pull the key shown below out from its base--a key mind you that can be cut to open an JL door, it will have 2 prongs at its base. The JL blank is one prong that's slightly narrower than the key, which anyone whose removed the key from the Fob can attest to.
I've seen a blank on ebay that matches close enough the the factory Fob even though I'd have to drill the hole for the roll pin myself. But the vendors I've come across that cut the key use one similar in design to below.
TIA
