Exactly what I want, just as a last resort.don't want an entire key fob. Just a copy of the metal door key.

Big box stores aren’t equipped to cut that kind of key. You’ll need to head to your local locksmith.don't want an entire key fob. Just a copy of the metal door key.

I've heard that before then had no issue.Big box stores aren’t equipped to cut that kind of key. You’ll need to head to your local locksmith.
There's no place to put a key to start the Wrangler. I think they're just looking for a way to unlock the door.Just the key alone won't start it. You'll need at least a RFID chip that can only be replicated by Mopar by custom order as part of a complete fob purchase.

I think there's a protection feature that prevents the doors from locking when the fob is inside. Or I may be thinking of one of our other vehicles.not looking to start it. just looking for one that provides entry.
A backup to the keys locked inside scenario
Mine doesn't have such a feature because I have manual locks. If I push the lock the door locks, all while I try to stop it from closing because I see the fob in the center console a microsecond after the door clicks on the catchI think there's a protection feature that prevents the doors from locking when the fob is inside. . Thankfully, right now, I have a soft top and never bother locking the door because there really isn't any security with a soft top.Pretty sure the locking sensor doesn't "know" if your fob is inside or outside.I think there's a protection feature that prevents the doors from locking when the fob is inside. I believe it does. An workaround is to remove the battery from the fob, store both in a tiny plastic bag. then stick that in the glove box. store the removed key blade under the vehicle.Pretty sure the locking sensor doesn't "know" if your fob is inside or outside.
For lots of good information in regard to the JL fob... the RFID chip in the fob and lots more, read through thisPretty sure the locking sensor doesn't "know" if your fob is inside or outside.
Ths approach to hiding a spare key is laughable at best.Alright, easy solutions.
