All you gas guzzling 4 doors will never know the joy of hitting 29mpg in a 2d Wrangler. It didn't stay there long, but it was a sight to behold.

If I'm lucky and careful I can maintain 27mpg for months and months in mixed driving.

I've got a 2019 JL Sport S. I consistently get 24-26 MPG when i fill up. its dependent on the smile on my face. These little 3.6 liter engines are pretty snappy....lol. I've had a TJ and JK Sahara and a JK Rubicon.....this outperforms them all.

2018 Stock JL, my wife has been teasing up to 27 on the computer and confirmed by receipts.

>>Unless you are filling, and patiently repeatedly nursing to overflow on the same ground every time
(And Joe, I'm not saying YOU do this, just a public service announcement...) :)

WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT OVERFILL the gas!!!
When the pump clicks, STOP!
If you fill more, you may overflow past your fuel tank pressure sensor and maybe into your vapor canister!

When the pump stops, ITS'S FULL. Stop there!

I have a stock JLU v6 and just finished a road trip from north Texas to the Gulf and back. 715 miles and 21mpg overall. The top was down 100% of the time and highway speeds of 75-80mph.

23 mpg +/- on each of my last two tanks. 2018 JLU.

Regarding the previous post ^, it used to be (on my JKU) that there was almost no decrease in fuel mileage with the top down or the windows open. It was basically so much of a brick that the wind buffetting didn't hurt much more.

My mileage went from 17MPG mixed average to 19.4 mixed average (3.6 JLU Auto Sport on 3 inches of lift and 35's) when I left commiefornia and their ethanol garbage mixed gas to Utah and started using ethanol free 91 octane (at over $1 cheaper per gallon than commiefornia "blend") during a Utah vacation. Democrats, saving the environment by making you burn more fuel...genius.

Another RWNJ who does ZERO critical thinking & research spouting off about "The Democrats" and some evil plan to steal their money. If you did some reading you'd know that the ethanol that's being used in gasoline is a REPUBLICAN SOCIALISM giveaway to the Midwest farmers! There was too much corn being grown, hence an over supply, hence a suppression of the price of corn, which led to a gov't mandated ethanol additive up to 10% to help stabilize corn prices. You know, keep gubbamint out of private industry! Now they're going to increase that to 15%, and if you think that's because of the "Commie-Californians" I suggest educating yourself. States without high air pollution, ozone levels are not required to use the ethanol mixed gas per the EPA. Ethanol mixed gas burns cleaner, but don't let facts get in the way of your delusions.

I got 24 mpg road miles in my 2018 JLS V-6. I started using premium gas, not sure if it’s made that much of a difference. May go back to regular.

As far as the politics go on this thread, is it that hard to keep politics out of EVERY conversation?? If you are that obsessed with what you feel may be wrong, instead of name calling and disparaging half of the US population, why don’t you try to talk to your local politicians and try to get some grassroots movement to sway public opinion? This is a forum on Jeeps, start a forum on politics. Not trying to be an AHole but namecalling good people is wrong in my humble opinion.

Completely off topic, but that’s the first chrome fuel cap cover I’ve seen, and it looks great.
Actually they are a brushed aluminum. They call it chrome, but not sure why.
