Sorry to hear you gave up. My Jeep experience hasn’t been problem free but I have never had any issues requiring an immediate visit to the dealer or even a recovery. (20k miles & 2.0 Petrol)
Thankfully Jeeps are so rare across the Atlantic (UK) that I don’t really have to worry too much about theft. (Touch wood)
Thieves seem more interested in more mainstream cars.
Took my Jeep to the dealer to get the ESS problem rectified. Got a call 1 hr later to pick up my Jeep as the battery is fully charged (quick time to charge the car battery??)
Despite it being -1 outside when I picked up my Jeep the ESS was working on that day flawlessly.
After that it has...
Have you installed this in your Jeep? If so how is it?
Looking online in stolen car groups people are saying it can be bypassed, whether that’s true or not I don’t know but I am a bit skeptical. It’s a shame that it doesn’t get recognised by insurance providers either.
I’m looking at getting...
Took my Jeep to the dealer, and they found nothing wrong with it, they did suggest I book my jeep in for a day to get the batteries charged, but wouldn’t this issue just come back? That just sounds like a band-aid fix to me.
Sorry to bump such an old thread, but the ESS system is definitely weird in the Jeep.
My daily commute typically involves 10mins of motorway driving and 20mins of city driving. So I would have thought the battery would be well charged for ESS to be active? Instead it very rarely activates. So...
One of the downfalls of Jeep, is the lack of after-sales service for us Europeans. Being an NA based company, I sort of expected this to happen as the NA market is where they make the most cash, despite their parent company being Italian!
Honestly feels like we are being left in the dark with...
Well I ordered the premium soft top from USA. Came to me on a pallet. Even after shipping and tax it was cheaper than what my dealer quoted me.
Unless you are made of money I would not recommend buying Jeep accessories from your dealer. The markup is ridiculous. I dread to think how much...
The headlights are flat, there is no kick to the left or right. So as far as I’m aware it will pass MOT.
They probably aren’t technically legal to use on the road in the EU as the above poster explained, but you’d be incredibly unlucky to get caught out by someone inspecting your headlamp for...
I never get any messages on my dashboard regarding ESS as to whether it’s ready or not. I always thought that was a thing exclusive to those with the 48v mild hybrid system.
Only had the occasional “Service Stop/start System” where it doesn’t work and that’s it. other times it works perfectly.
