When I ordered from Chapman, that person who was running the forum deals gave me an invoice price but it had went up a few hundred when the actual invoice came in
You / we definitely need to verify that the price is locked in.

I have price lock in writing via email from Mitch. Hopefully, that is sufficient. Invoice hasn’t changed since I ordered though.

Mitch left? That's definitely a blow on that dealership if true. Wow I guess I got one of his last deals then. I will say that working with Mitch was an absolute treat. The guy is a class act and very transparent. Something you don't see from a typical car salesman. It was refreshing. My local dealer wouldn't even come close to what Mitch put together for me and they love making you stay in the showroom for hours. I was in and out in like 30 minutes iirc back in December. It was fantastic. However, I do recall having some bumps with management on delivery week. SC taxes weren't filed right, trade-in value changed, etc. I chalk it up to dealer errors or them trying to recoup some "loss" money. Nothing on Mitch. It didn't affect me financially as the dealership ate up the cost mistakes. Really an overall good experience I would say considering that final week. Now, I'm just waiting on my SC tags to come in. Still running with temps from pick up but time is running out. Hopefully it gets here soon.

It would be good to hear from folks who actually completed their transaction at Ourisman. I was under the impression that the invoice price was "FWP" on my sold order. Mitch explained to me that the price protection is on the MSRP at the time of your order. The invoice isn't known until they get it when the vehicle ships. He said he would show it to me and I would get 7% under w affiliate.

This was his last comment to me about the invoice price when I said it didn't seem like I actually had a price locked in (I don't know what "shipper" means):

"its a shipper so the invoice is usually about $200 higher but you do have sold order protection so if the msrp goes up thousands you are safe"

That's pretty f'd up. Normally dealerships give the exact price and lock it in. It's pretty damn common for prices to rise before you get it.
That's why I'd like to know how others transactions went down. Mitch gave me a sold order with an MSRP of 54K and FWP of 51K. But when I asked if the 7% below 51K was locked in, he said no. They don't know the invoice until they get it?

My transaction ended up where I expected it to. It looks even better because I was price locked before the price hikes post strike. All the pricing was figured out and signed on at time of order. The invoice price was on my sold order form.

My deal is also priced locked and there is a three digit option code on the order form specifically for price lock. 4EA or 4AE something like that.

If the price is different at time of delivery, that would be an issue.

FWIW I had no issues with the price. I knew what it was in May when I ordered, and it was the same in December when I picked up the Jeep. Hopefully yours goes just as smoothly.

From my convos with Mitch, they had their eyes on beating Koons with factory orders. Even though they might be "losing" money with the factory orders, they had other kick backs/incentives
Interesting strategy shift. Back when I ordered my 2021 4xe from Koons, I was aware they were able to offer their lower pricing precisely because of their volume. Ourisman is in my backyard - I did try a similar pricing exercise with them, but at that time, they had no room to negotiate beyond the $500 military discount. Wasn’t an issue for them though - it’s a wealthy area, they had plenty of regular orders. I guess a lot has changed in three years.

I have the same code 4EA Sold Vehicle. That seemingly means the MSRP is price protected. But not the invoice price. If the cost of the vehicle increases from the time you ordered, the invoice price will go up as Mitch said. So you're really not price protected at all on invoice. Look at your sold order - this is at the bottom. Mitch pointed it out to me.

Then I guess I got lucky because what I paid was not higher than quoted 8 months ago. I consider that price protected.

I just posted this in the other thread but my Sahara order came in over the weekend and I am going this Saturday to pick it up. I called the dealership yesterday and they confirmed Mitch is gone and a sales rep (can't remember his name but it wasn't Jacob Black) said they would honor the price Mitch quoted me. Once I pick up on Saturday (assuming all goes well and I do pick it up), I'll post how things went. Honestly I am worried since Mitch isn't there.

Awesome! And actual test case!

Good luck on Saturday and PLEASE report back on your dealership experience if you have a chance, thank you!
