Haha, well I ordered her and then start scouring the half million forums on accessories, mods, tops, colors and start getting doubts on what I ordered, mainly color, colored fenders and the top.

Is this normal to doubt what you order??? Haha. I ordered silver (it was a dilemma) as I liked Granite so much, and the wild side of me like Mojito a lot. Actually I liked all the colors, even Punk-n (it was low on the list though). So now I am doubting it, should I have went wilder and bolder, should I have the soft top for easy on/off open air rides, are my painted flares going to scratch. You know the things that people who always doubt their decisions do, lol.

I am just overwhelmed with all the info available, all the mods, all of it, it's a whole new world compared to my Super Duty Platinum I just sold whereas tires, wheels, lifts are about the mainstream mods.

I can add my own insight because I shared some of the same dilemmas (first world problems) prior to ordering mine. Here was my rationale on each of things you are thinking about.

I was torn between ordering Granite and Red. I really liked the Red with black fenders and top, and every picture I saw, they looked great. But I liked the rugged look of the Granite. In the end, I chose Granite. Not because I didn't think i would like the Red, but I didn't think I would grow tired of the Granite like I might the other colors. And I just really like the color. The silver looks good too (especially with black fenders and top), but the last several cars we have owned have been silver. Time for a subtle change.

I was also going back and forth on hard top vs soft top. And was all but planning to order with a soft. However, as pointed out on this forum, if you order a hard top from the factory, they will wire it for the rear window defrost and washer fluid. That doesn't happen if you order a soft top. You can always buy a soft top aftermarket. Since you are ordering an Unlimited, I would have considered the dual top if I were you. It was not offered for my 2 door. Right now, I am having to wait on a soft top to hit the market and it's killing me.

Painted fender flares was another option I put thought into. But it was easier for me as the painted Granite flares are not much different in color than the unpainted. I chose painted because I could always Line-X them if they get chewed too bad. Plus, I'm having film put on them tomorrow. From what many say, the unpainted will fade over time and that was concern. So you kind of pick your poison.

All that said....I wouldn't sweat it. Go with your instincts and just know that there isn't much on the jeep you can't change if want to go a different route!

First world problems. I think you’ll find that the silver is absolutely awesome. My wife ordered bright white, revived in early April. I ordered Hellayella in early July, in JB status and waiting. How long ago did you order? People have changed orders. Anyway, I wouldn’t sweat it.

Well what u are doing is what all of us go thru. The last 3 vehicles we have bought were on the lot, so we saw them, drove them, before we bought.

1 silver, 1 gray, 1 white. Since the Jeep is going to be a vehicle that is a fun vehicle for us, we are going Punk'n. Everyone has a silver/gray Jeep. Red, think that would get old, and yellow, as a friend said, looks like left over school bus paint. The green and blue, nope, just not for us.

So, Punk'n it is. Plus black hard top, back fenders, black rock sliders, black interior, and being a Oklahoma State grad, orange and black it is.

Now, just waiting for the 19 order bank to open to get our Rubi on order.

I'm a black guy. It's my favorite color. All of my current vehicles are black. While I have been fond of other colors like charcoals and darker grays, I always default back to black.

So over the last few years I've been really digging these battleship and garage floor grays on the Rams and Jeeps. Now that the time came to get a new vehicle we figured screw it and went with the sting gray. I actually had to sit there in front of the sales guy and ponder the black vs sting gray for a few minutes before pulling the trigger.

I was totally psyched for a week or so before having doubts. I feel like I might have made a mistake one day and the next day I'm all into the sting gray again.
Whatever. It's too late now, it should be arriving any day now. Even with my doubts and wishy washiness I'm sure once I see it and have it, I'll be fine.

You will love it once it is yours, mainly because it is YOUR JEEP. You obviously thought about every option you chose and made those choices for a reason, but one of the best things about Jeeps is that they are like Lego for grown ups. Everything can be changed, and you can fall in love all over again.

I never wanted white on any vehicle. Now I have a white Jeep because when I saw it with all of the black and red accents, I could not imagine liking another combo more. Every time I see her, I smile.

Can’t go wrong with color matching everything. I’ve had a silver JK/black top/black fenders and I kicked myself for not going matching. Contrast is good but all one color opens up options for different color aftermarket parts, wheels, decals, you know, Jeep stuff.

I ordered a Sting-Gray Rubi with color top & black fenders. I saw both Billet and Sting Gray Rubi's in person with this color combo in person and loved it, but since ordering I've been looking at online photos & I've now been loving the color matched everything set up once again. Lol, I've been driving myself nuts since I passed D1. I'm sure I'll be happy when I see my delivered set up in person next week.

You might wanna add some car magnets for your car improvement, it might look better depends on the design you'd like to put in. At least it wouldn't be plain, just a suggestion. I did that with my car since I got bored with its plain color.

Dude sting gray is the best color. I walked into the dealer looking at cpo JKs (before i knew anything about the JL's) and said no white, no black, no silver, no yellow. Basically I wanted either tank green, gobi or blue. Some time later we are looking at JL's and we walk by a sting gray and both the salesman and I say dannggg. It is certainly different than silver or granite. It wa about 7pm in July and the way the sun was hitting the pain I thought I saw hues of tan and dark green, almost like gobi and tank green. Never seen a color like it. Even the battleship color charges arent't quite sting gray. It is definitely a one of a kind color. I can't wait to pick it up. ordered july 19th. hoping 2-3 more weeks. Go join sting gray IG accounts if you have IG. There's even a Sting Gray - only thread somewhere on here. It's a good color for sure.

Could you share who is doing/did the film on your fenders?
Want to do this to wife’s Sahara before she ditches the stock (wide) steps and looses the rock throwing protection.

Fortunately, I rarely see a Granite jeep around here. Now...white...black....all the time.
I’ve seen a couple of JLURs in granite on my morning commute,
and they look sharp!

And this one hangs out in my driveway, usually taking my preferred parking spot

I'm going to get Solar Eclipse to do it. https://www.solareclipsetintstn.com/

He does my window tinting as well. Great person to deal with and prices are great. When I took the jeep in to get tinting done this week, I was talking to him about filming the fenders and door hinges. He wants to do a little due diligence on the JL fenders since it was the first request the new model, but I'm fine with that.

If you could, let me know how it turns out.
