As a TJ owner investigating sale also, use bringATrailer and classic.com to see your value. My TJ is worth like $11-$13k

Sold my '05 TJ, Flame Red, Rocky Mountain Edition 112,000 miles on the odometer for 12, 500 last July. Buyer was an acquaintance I have wheeled with in the Eastern Sierra, he texts me often to say how happy he is that he bought my Jeep. I would be surprised if a Carvana offer would be any higher on a vehicle that old. Got my JLUR in February 2020, was not in any hurry to sell my TJ, agree that if they are in good shape TJ's and LJ's especially Rubicons are only going to increase in value. Thats definatly the case here in Southern Califonia, a friend has been offered 30,000 for his '06 LJ Rubicon.

I live just north of you in the Fargo area. If you're selling for $6,000. I'll drive down tonight and meet you after work with cash in hand. That's a steal.

I currently have a 2006 LJ Rubicon (limited edition Rubihara) that I wouldn't sell for less than $20,000. Last summer on vacation in CO I found a note on my window from someone looking to purchase my Jeep. I took it as a huge compliment, but I'm not selling. The LJ is irreplaceable. You'll never find another one like it.

I'm currently looking to purchase a new JLUR, but I'm keeping my LJ. At the same time I am considering purchasing a 2nd LJ for my kid. I'm not in need or looking too aggressively, but if the right deal comes up, I'll purchase one. Your LJ at the dealers offering price would be a deal I would jump on.

I have had a 2004 wrangler unlimited since new . 17 plus years , 131.000 Miles , no mechanical problems , just wear items , tires , brakes , and fluid service .
I ordered a new wrangler on
11-5-21 .
Dealer traded in a 2020 cherokee trail hawk for what I paid for it a year ago .
They only want to give 6,000.00 for my 04 unlimited on trade . Looking for input . The offer for the 04 seems low . Don't want to give it away
I sold my 2005 unlimited Rubicon the day after Christmas, 96k miles, mild build for $19.5k....had two responses within the first hour. Sell your 2004 online, forget trading it in.

Well I didn't want to show all my cards at once. But I posted here in hopes that the OP will post back again in April when he's ready to sell it. Even at $10,000 I would seriously consider it in April.

@ Slaw32 Keep me posted when you are ready to sell it. I would be more interested in a Rubi LJ, but I am still interested in your LJ.

Are you sure SHE wants you to sell it? If it's been her vehicle for this long, surely she has an attachment to it now as well. My '95 YJ started as my wife's daily driver when we first picked it up new. We ordered it to her specifications, then started to build it for trail use after a few years and got her a new daily. Now it sits in the garage most days and is only used as our convertible on pretty days, but I don't think we could ever sell it. It's only got 64k original miles, so that helps. I already warned my kids that it will likely become their vehicle down the road, so they'd better learn how to drive a manual one day! ;-)

I have posted pictures earlier in the thread . With a little over 131,000 miles on it , not saying it's new , but is is a solid vehicle . I don't want to screw anybody , but I don't want want to get taken advantage of either . I know that whoever buys it will be getting a fair deal .

I think you can see pretty clearly from this thread that everyone is telling you it is worth way more than $6000. Lets get back in touch next April after you get your new Jeep and see what we can work out. I can't guarantee I'll purchase your Jeep in April, but I think its pretty clear that even if I don't buy it, you will have lots of options to sell it yourself when the time comes.

Unless it’s a total rust bucket your dealer will resell your TJ for roughly $20k. There is no depth to which they won’t go.

The low offer is likely because they aren’t experienced with such an older vehicle and don’t know the market. So, they are thinking that if you were willing to offload it for that price, it would make it worth their while. Sell it privately, you might get well over double that from the right person. Look at bring-a-trailer … there are some LJs that sold for north of 30K!

He posted pictures in this thread looks pretty good for the age. Those fenders always sun wash though are were they like that new? Last one I seen was same way.

Nothing little plastidip couldn't solve I am sure.
