I saw someone post they didn’t like the MORE steel plates. The aluminum ones look and fit great, no issues, and not too heavy.
Wow! That looks awesome!

Another vote for the ASFIR - very beefy and good Bang for the $
How difficult was that to install?

Can you still access the drain plug?

Easy access to to drain plug, I use a foldable silicone sheet, that I form into a funnel just to prevent any splashing, and a bottom of a 2l soda bottle to prevent any spillage when I spin off the filter. So far, 2 oil changes since installed, no issues

I had one on my Sahara 2.0 build. I’ll likely get another for the 3.6 Rubicon we have. They did nice work on it. A little messy on the oil changes though. I’ll likely put waterweld epoxy on the top side to steer oil to the drain cutout again.
I put one on my 4xe, partly to protect the Valvomax plug I installed ( https://www.valvomax.com/pages/product-results?steps=196082-201116-201125&wizardId=22 ).

I also went with the "starter pack" with the bag and attachment. Probably too much money for what it is, but boy will it spoil you. Absolutely NO mess when draining the engine oil (though still have to deal with the filter, of course) even with the skid.

I really want to like Rusty's but I have their tire carrier, drag link, tie rod, and sliders.

The tire carrier was a PITA to put on and it's still not perfect. After installing it, the guide arm rubs on the inside of the sub and squeaks. I have been putting brake pad grease on it every 3 months and it's quieter. I had to take it off and put it on 3-4 times and it's not fun.

The rock sliders do not line up. I'm going to a shop and they're going to drill out the holes in the sliders so the studs that the old Rubicon sliders used, will fit in the Rusty's sliders holes. Another PITA.

The tie rod keeps moving. I have to constantly adjust and tighten the nuts into their lock washers, junk.

Their stuff seems to be very heavy duty. I think if I were building a custom buggy/crawler, I might use their stuff but for a daily rig, I'm finally done with their stuff. I tried hard to like them. Either their stuff is junk or my Jeep is unaligned somehow that none of their JL parts fit on my JL properly.

It has a good size access hole especially if you are using a quick drain option.

Like a lot of things, it is a bit of a PIA to install on your own, and I ended up taking it to my local mechanic and using his lift. Took both of us about 25 min.

I keep coming back to look at your prestigious jeep. Its so bright & clean, shiny & chrome! Its like I want a large poster of this in my garage. I don't know if I want those skids because they're so colorful or protection. 😄

They matched my control arms😜. I use an under spray pressure washer, and live in sour California, so dusty trails, not a mudder😊

I also have the M.O.R.E skid plate and yesterday I put in the Fumoto when I did my oil change. Looks like its well protected up there. I would recommend the skid and the Fumoto.

Hopefully they still don't look that pristine! If they do then I'm pretty sure they were a waste of money.

No that’s was on install day, they are clean, but have a lot of scratches, no dents yet. But just about everything I do to my Jeep is a waste of money, I have fun doing it though.

I've overheard people commenting on my rig, saying it has never been off road. So, of course, I embarrass the crap out of them by pointing out the gouges in my various skids and bumpers. That's definitely worth the price of admission!

Yep. Some folks expect a Jeep that is used as a Jeep to look like crap, not realizing that some of us like to take proper care of our vehicles, no matter the time spent away from the asphalt.

I keep my Suzuki well-maintained and it looks the part, but a glance at the skid plate on that bike, to say nothing of the tread wear patterns, will make it very plain that I've enjoyed my time in the dirt.

Granted, recognizing how a DOT knobby tire has worn takes a trained eye, but any old dope should know what a dented and scratched skid plate represents.
