you said you got the frame checked for straightness, did they check the frame front to back? The Jeep is currently in my back shop until Spring. At that point I will sell it, fix it, or burn it.
Yes, we measured the entire frame.you said you got the frame checked for straightness, did they check the frame front to back?
you had told me you put all new front in and it still wobbled, i am curious if the back end of the frame is twisted enough that it causes a tail wag that throws the front into a wag causing the DW.
and if you added skid plates then it is keeping the weight low so you may not feel the wiggling but the frame not body is wiggling back and forth.
Speed limit was 75.All of that money and you haven't tried the least expensive thing you can do in a modded Jeep: Slow down.
Hey I’m from Cedar Lake In, what state are you in?Well after 2 years of fighting with this thing, 1/2 a dozen gear boxes, track bars, stabilizers, tires, wheels, control arms. I’m done fighting it. Yesterday doing 70 on the expressway I hit a small bump, Jeep literally went across 3 lanes of rush hour traffic, over the curb and into the grass shoulder. Couldn’t get the death wobble to stop. Im shocked I didn’t hit anyone or cause a major accident,I’m done. I’m going to see what I can get for it the way it sits, if I can’t get any decent offers there will be a ton of parts listed in the for sale area. I have never fought a Jeep this much in my life.
I hate to say it but there will be a new Bronco sitting in my garage before long.
Hopefully you are not trading one problem for another.... Im in Cedar Lake In. Most parts were added to correct it.Hey I’m from Cedar Lake In, what state are you in?
is this all failure of after market parts or modifications? Same thing can happen to a modified Bronco
Normally under a 4” lift you don’t have to alter track bar height.Pitman arm is stock and track bar is aftermarket but it’s slightly longer to compensate for the lift. Track bar and drag link are basically the same plane. When I measured it it was 1-2 degrees off from each other which is nothing.Out of curiosity, you have a track bar tower on the axle side and what does the angle comparison the track bar and drag link look like? Track bar and drag link should be at similar angles. Typically without a track bar tower you end up with one at a steep angle and the other at a shallower angle. This can induce bump steer which can either trigger DW or can feel damn near the same if it's bad enough.
I believe it's under 4" of lift you don't need a drag link flip. Any amount of lift I always have been recommended by others, and have personally recommended, getting a proper height track bar tower with an adjustable track bar. Though who knows if a tower would solve your issue or not, but it is a recommendation that I have always seen and have always made.Normally under a 4” lift you don’t have to alter track bar height.Pitman arm is stock and track bar is aftermarket but it’s slightly longer to compensate for the lift. Don’t forget the ass hats that just comment to comment.I'm liking how it's breaking down to roughly:
25% saying goodbye to the OP wishing him well
25% still trying to help him fix his rig
25% mocking him mercilessly
25% just hanging out for the atmosphere
Meanwhile... the "farewell tour" has gone past Cher... rounded the Stones and is heading full-tilt toward KISS...![]()
Lol. I agree Jim. I would have locked this thread down a long time ago. Anyone that has been on here a while has seen all the crap you’ve been through with this. Sorry to hear still an issueDon’t forget the ass hats that just comment to comment.
