I love OEM parts and have no problem normally paying the premium to buy them, but is it me or are these lugs insanely overpriced?

Part Number: 82216113AA

The MSRP is roughly $95 for a set of 4 lugs. Compared to something like this, which is less than $95 for a whole set: https://www.justforjeeps.com/gorilla-factory-black-jl-lugs.html#tab-reviews

Does anyone have the OEM black lug nuts? Would love to know if you feel like their quality far surpasses what competitors offer.

Go over there and ask Benny about those lug nuts and see what he says.

$95 for a set of four??? I'm wondering what a set of four is good for.

They're $64/4 on both Amazon and Quadratec. Yes, still pricey, but also considerably less than $95/4.

I've a full set of OEM black lug nuts, purchased in new condition from a fellow owner on this site. I paid $40, shipped.

The quality is acceptable, but they're not as robust as I'd have hoped.

I had black lug nuts in the past. They weren't Mopar; they were McGard, which are high quality.

They looked good for about a year. Sadly, with time they started to show galvanized corrosion and scratches from impact tools. So I reverted back to the OE chrome lug nuts.

I live in the PNW; we get plenty of rain and some snow in the winter. I am sure that had something to do with my experience. So I don't bother with black lug nuts any more.

I have had the black oem lug nuts, mcgard, and the gorilla. I found no difference whatsoever in terms of quality.

Probably the same reason a single plastic OEM/Mopar valve stem cap retails for over $8 each (LINK) when you can buy 50 aftermarket ones for the same price.

I like sticking with OEM for a lot of things and their street prices are actually competitive for some parts (filters, some fluids), but many are just outlandishly priced even after discounts.

My guess is to make you buy more than you necessarily need.

However, if the assumption is you will want one of the 5 lug nuts to be locking lug nut, then 4 per package makes sense. However, then you have to find someone to sell you 5 locking lug nuts, in black.

Dropping > $500 just to get black lug nuts seems a bit much for me. Then again we do have two Rubicons, I guess that does put me on the sucker mailing list.

If I'm paying that kind of money for lug nuts, they are going to be titanium for the weight savings.

Usually you get what you pay for. I would not cheap out for something that would hold my wheels on at critical moments.
