I'm of the mindset that my Jeep can be used, it can get dirty, but there's no reason it needs to stay dirty. I think driving around with the thing covered in dirt, just because, is stupid...I certainly don't need to prove to anyone that it does Jeep things. It gets cleaned, and I try to park it where it's not going to get hit. It's engrained in me to take good care of my stuff, always have. Clean windows, clean mirrors, clean exterior lamps, that's all safety stuff.

It was so damn freeing when I bought my first Jeep. No need to keep it washed. No need to park at the far side of the lot. No worrying about scuffing your "rims" on the curb.
This x1000 for me, except I still find myself parking "away" from the masses of vehicles at public lots ?

I've mentioned it often here, but I can't stand washing vehicles anymore. I felt "forced" with previous vehicles because of their implied "look" or whatever, peer pressure, blah blah...this thing, I love seeing it dirty and feel like it's naked without a good film of grime and dirt all over it ?

That's been my M.O. for years now. What I've had to come to terms with is the willingness of fellow Jeep owners to park next to me, way out there in BFE.

This thread isn't helping. ?

I've YET to voluntarily park right next to a fellow Jeep. It seems like most of us have no idea how to park them between the lines in parking spaces (myself included lol) And yeah, that thread doesn't help me either ?

It's doubly sad when one whiffs the alignment in a parking space designed for dummies. ;)

It's a cascade reaction. One person does it, everyone else has to do avoid getting hammered by the one dummy who things they can squeeze in between ?

This poll, and Greg, is one of the reasons I fly the Gadsden under the Stars and Stripes. You know, the one that says “Don’t ‘tred‘ on me.” ?

Most of the parks near me are either wicked mud or crazy dust, so I plan for a good wash after every outing - especially the muddy ones.

I also wash it ~twoce a year outside of that, just so it looks good for the change of the seasons.

Just washed the winter off this weekend.

I need a "When I remember to do it" option. Or maybe a "When I feel like it" option.

Sometimes it's when it rains but always after an adventure. Most of the time it's just whenever I get around to doing it. Definitely not OCD and you sure as hell won't catch me using the 2 bucket method with foam cannon at home that's for damn sure. Ain't got time for that nonsense.

For me it depends on how it got dirty. If it's from an off road adventure then I'll let that go for a while. As long as it isn't a bunch of mud because that can be difficult to clean off.

If it's been a while since I left the road and it's just build up from everyday weather, then I'm a bit more OCD, especially in the winter.

I’m still in the honeymoon phase so it’s weekly cleaning. The road salt is also a pain and it seems like NYC is trying to make up for the last few mild years. It’s been a while since Ive had a black Jeep and oh boy am I starting to rethink my color choice. Please tell me the Earl Grey sucks. I have yet to see one in person but it looks like it would hide the dirt pretty well

Bright colors hide dirt better than dark colors.

The vehicle paint color that camouflages road detritus the best, in my experience, is silver.

The worst? Black, full stop.

The best color of all time for hiding dirt is GM's ubiquitous "Pewter". I swear they designed the color to hide dirt.

Sting Grey on my Jeep looks good when it's clean...mostly. Not having a metallic flake in it makes certain things more visible I think. My last Jeep was white. I probably should have gone with white again.
