Suggestion: Move to Colorado. Then you can say, "we're not in Kansas anymore" and you'll have a better view and most likely a 3+ car garage.

Man that is good. I live in tiny town Kansas a bit away from anything bigger than 4 stop lights. I need to see if I can find something like this. Any advice on what kind of company to Google?
Just search for "metal buildings near me". You should get plenty of hits.
I don't know how he got a 24'x22' for less than $4k. I bet a metal building that size and able to withstand your weather will be north of $8000. Plus you'll likely need a concrete pad, or at the very least some solid footings which will add another few grand.

Barbour freight sells large tarp style car bays. Could you try one of them? My Jeep has been outside for 8 months in Kansas now. I’m doing just fine as long as you keep is clean of salt.

Since I get hail, high winds and tornados several times a year. :D
I feel you. I lived in Denver for 15 years, and I had a garage for just one of those years. The rest of the time was spent keeping a VERY close eye on the storms as they rolled in. I bolted out of work more than once just to move my car down the street to a covered garage. CO and Midwest hail is no joke!

Why not build a new house with a garage and a swimming pool with sharks with fricken lazzzer beams on their heads?

Normally I would, however, I am just back to being able to walk and drive after a pretty serious injury to both my legs several years ago. The VA was a little slow on scheduling the surgery so that has complicated things. So sadly my ability to carry, climb, maneuver ect is almost nil still. So the cargo container drop and use idea seemed possible to me.
My dad cut the body off a school bus, attached it to 6x6 posts and painted it. added metal to cover the gap at the bottom. pretty cool carport. Ill get come pics this week.

Use a car cover.

I've use them on several vehicles and on my motorcycles too.

Photo is 2020 Subaru Crosstrek. Have some of my Jeep, but not where I can attach yet.

So my house doesn't have a garage. Most of my yard is also very uneven with as much are 4 or 5 feet variance in elevation. I am about to get my new 2022 JLU and I am trying to think of ways to help protect it from the wonderful variety of weather here in Kansas. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to use a 20 foot cargo container as a garage.

I live in coastal South Carolina. My Jeep has been through two hurricanes with a softop without any water intrusion over the past three years.

Also had four months of 90 degrees+ and 100% humidity this summer and an insane amount of rain and thunderstorms.

Shoot, we even had a small tornado touch down near us.

Surprisingly I've had no issues. Honestly wasn't expecting that. I've been really impressed.

Depending on where you are, most areas don't allow cargo containers. Even if they did, a 20' is running about $2k atm, and you could built a carport for that amount too

car port?

modern cars do fine sitting outside honestly if you keep them clean and do proper maintenance.

How long do you plan keeping it?

A carport wont hurt though and it is really easy to set up. My Jeep sits outside, my garage is detached and it is a gym and office space. But I live in southern California. They bake in the sun for most of the day though which isn't good.

Sounds like a great idea given the Kansas winds. Probably about the only thing that will stay on the ground during the spring and summer winds.
