Is it because of shortages or they have to get their average MPGs up? You build this many V8s you have offset that with whatever the best MPG combo is. The V8 is cool and if they offered it in a JL I might be tempted. But the days of stuffing a big engine in a small car aren't a priority for me right now.

I'll be happy with a 3.6 and even better with no eTorque.

Does this mean my 3/15 XR order will be subject to further delays?

As of right now, it's the 2.0 or the diesel and that's it.

No assumably not, your order has already been factored in
That's what the people that ordered 392 XRs thought. Now some of them have been given the option of removing XR and getting it as a 2022, or waiting until their XR gets built in model year 2023.

I can’t help but think that these allocations are to assist with some supply for the 20th anniversary Rubicon.

Or, I bet it’s to offset the average MPG of the fleet. The gasoline V6 gets the worst MPG right, even in the eTorque configuration? Force folks to make a “decision” towards your other more economical choices and you’ve just artificially bumped your average MPG of the fleet.

It seems silly for them to make this change due to the forecast this week’s/month’s orders. If it was that crazy, wouldn’t they just halt orders and fill dealer stock?

I wonder what'll happen if they push the orders to 2023, being that my order is a LE Gobi that's discontinued next month.

They're still building both. Note that this is overall and not just Rubicons. I don't have a way to filter these types of queries by model yet.
