What is different about the frame? They removed that recalled frame stud that might poke a hole in the gas tank?

I imagine it probably got lost in all the face saving, but I did detail the extent of what I know a few posts back:

The rail spacing has changed - which necessitated the relocation of several brackets and mount points on both the frame and the tub. It also required the redesign of the winch - because it physically wouldn't fit between the rails.

That just feels like nitpicking though. What does the end result to the consumer mean? Were they able to strengthen the area near the steering gear? What were they aiming for?

To be clear, I am actually interested in the answer.

Hey man don't get me wrong. All I did was share the fact that the frame had changed. From there it became a "whisper down the alley" game that ended with me being told that I claimed that this was an all-new design. But I don't have that level of information - I was not there when the frame was re-designed, I just happened to see a prototype. Based on the changes I was able to note, it appears that they were aiming for more tire clearance - the rails are closer together and have also been re-profiled around the wheel well/axle area. I'm sure there were other reasons (like the new 44's for instance), but that's all I could discern.

Well in that case I really don’t feel like I’m missing out on much. The frame is one of the only changes that couldn’t be easily swapped into an older JL.

Yeah and I think anyone looking for tire clearance is just going to lift anyway. Unless we find out at some point that there's some other huge upgrade hidden in the new frame, I agree with you.

The 2023 model is a lot more than a "refresh". I don't know if FCA will call it "all-new" but it's definitely not a re-style. It's got an all new frame and tub. I don't know anything beyond that but logic dictates if that much is new than there could be A LOT more.

Not a next gen prediction, but I predict that for MY2025 they drop the 392, the 3.6 (and manual trans), and probably even the non-eTorque 2.0. Leaving only the 2.0 eTorque and 4XE.

I just read that the EPA is announcing new standards for 27–32 models next week. EPA confirmed the standards are designed to incentivize consumers to purchase electric vehicles. Your prediction could at least be within a year or two of being correct. ( and the pure EV to come)

Just an ugly grill and a big radio for most models. This is why I don't trust when someone says they know someone, and have seen something, because it's always BS.

That didn't age well...2024 refresh, same frame and tub, new grill, dash, and giant screen and that's about it.
