So.. Anyone have the details on specs, part numbers and pricing?

They look like 5x5 bolt pattern. Good for 50% more towing capacity.

But with same size gears maybe not that much stronger overall ...!?

I had a full float kit on my 44 rear in my TJ. Warn used to have a kit. It was pretty stout. Looking forward to seeing if I can adapt the parts from this new option.

That would be pretty cool if we're able to easily retrofit them to existing D44 rears. Can't wait to see more info come out

From the cross sectional view, it looks possible.

I'm hoping we can - the current 3500lb towing capacity is almost exactly what my boat trailer weighs, so I'm really pushing the limit (and probably slightly exceeding it when the boat has fuel and gear in it).

Even though I know I can't technically increase the rated towing capacity of a Jeep (what's printed on the door frame is what it is, legally speaking) I'm fine with just mentally knowing that I can safely exceed the rated 3500lb capacity by a few hundred pounds by modding the rear axle to a full float.

When towing weight is usually more of other factors I am wondering how they increased 1500lbs with a FF axle. Going over 3500 with a current JLU the axle snapping in half isn't what I would worry about.

Towing is probably a convenient excuse. What they can't say is that full float axles are really for the people who want to stick 37s and 38s on their Jeeps.

Maybe, but then if they changed nothing else, and FF axles don't really make any difference for towing, then how did the towing capacity go up by 1500 pounds? Unless it was really 1500lb higher all along, and they were just being overly conservative.

I put those tires on without a FF axle.

A lot of people do.
The benefits of a fall float design are strength and extra security. In theory, the shafts are less likely to bend, twist, or break since they are only responsible for turning the wheels. Secondly, if you break an axle shaft or blow the rear diff, you can remove the axle shafts and drive shaft, limp our of trail in front wheel drive.

For those who want to stay 37s or 38s and don't want to go tons, this is a great upgrade for factory D44. I really hope there will be a conversion kit soon. Towing part of it I personally do not care. I don't tow with the Jeep.
