From my understanding, and I can be wrong, but I’ve heard DOT doesn’t actually test, but puts out the specifications etc for manufacturers.

You’re not the first to mention the coating peeling off, at least I’ve seen it mentioned a couple of times. Wonder if they were able to tweak it
Powder Coated at the moment is the best we have ever had. We had a batch of bad powder coating a couple of years ago, which caused the light finish to fail prematurely. This was fixed right away, and unfortunately, it was a vendor issue. Baja Designs covers the entire light, even any finish issues.

Best,

Baja Designs has a lifetime warranty. I had a set of LP9s on my Ram TRX that started to have the powder coating fade after 3 years of use. I called Baja Designs, and they said no problem, we'll fix it. I sent them to Baja Designs and within a few days they sent them back with entirely new light housings, not just recoated ones. The lighting elements were fine, so they moved them to new housings and sent them to me. The new ones have remained fade free, going on 3 years now, and are being used on my 2-door JLR

[edit] Baja Designs beat me to it.

Glad you were taken care of 👍

Best,
This is a huge reason why these are only radar for my jeep, the support and warranty is a huge factor for me now with mods.

Real excited to see comparisons on these etc

Hey Brahian, have you seen the lights in person? I have 24 JL Led headlights and they suck, however was there a huge difference between the two?
Lastly any discount for this forum?

I have multiple hours behind both the DOT and the stock headlights. Just like all our lights, it's designed to give you the best behind-the-wheel experience possible. Bendability and the ability to avoid driving fatigue are the two standouts.

We don't have any forum discount codes as they have all been discontinued due to our policy. With that said, just shoot me an email.

I was very excited to see these released. I've been using BD lights for 20+ years. I used to run them on my dirt bike racing desert way back when. The headlights would compliment my LP4's and fog lights nicely!

Appreciate the response. My issue is when i had 2019 and 2023 Jeep JL with oem led headlights they were absolutely amazing. Distance, color, and overall output were amazing. Now that i have 2024 JL with stock led headlights, it seems like they either changed the led bulb itself or dimmed the lens. Since you have experience, can you say there is greater distance in overall light on the road in very dark roads? I know i got the lp6s and onx6 led bar on the go but cant usually utilize any on local Socal streets.. So based on your experience, how much better would you say the dot 6 lp6 upgrade is compared to stock led heads

Have had BD for 4 different vehicles, nothing bad to report on them, now at a point where I won't try anything else for the foreseeable future. Tried a couple of competitors early on and was severely disappointed.

They are sick!

I now serious consider upgrading my halogen headlight housing. I have had the LED bulbs from Beamtech since almost day one. Its been good but not great. And I never like the Oracle and Diode Dynamics headlights enough to spend the money, but these Baja Design headlights might just change that. Unlike most people, I dont really care for the halo ring DRL. They look good but its a "meh" to me.

Added them to my back friday shopping list.

They look cool and also, def going to bright!

I got lp9s last May. One light started to have mad condensation and both lights have black coating coming of badly. Might make a thread about it later to see if any one else got that. Not like ive had them over ten winters rather just one so far.
Anyhow, so id be bit concerned on that side of things. Knowing that oem headlights are solid.
Perhaps would have loved to see cool ring around like Diode I believe but then again LP series look bad ass even without the DRL rings.
Contact them . I’m positive that I’ve seen people with coating issues get taken care of. And condensation is a no brainer that they’d fix it.
