  1. Is F.A.D. still a thing?

I agree, I guess all the failures I have seen have been at the tube. I guess the only way to protect against a failure there is trussing the axle.
  2. Is F.A.D. still a thing?

If you delete the fad, has anyone tried this Barnes 4wd kit and does it actually strengthen the axle at the fad? https://barnes4wd.com/products/jeep-jl-jt-front-axle-disconnect-block-off-plate-and-reinforcement-bracket
  3. AEV RX Rear Bumper Auxiliary Light

It comes with a pigtail off the back of the light with a weather pack type plug and it comes with the pieces to assemble the other side of the plug on your own wiring. No relay needed, just wire to the appropriate aux switch.
  4. Can’t Decide Diesel or 24 3.6

We have a 2021 diesel and I wouldn't trade it for a 2024! Ours has 40k miles on it and has been great. We tow an off road trailer on and off too!
  5. Exploring CO

We explored Trinidad this weekend. It was a great early season trip before we can get into the high country!
  6. Exploring CO

We are very lucky! That sounds awesome. We've hit cottonwood pass on snowmobiles and then cottonwood hot springs. We are checking out trinidad state park this weekend for an early season camping trip!
  7. Exploring CO

Awesome, we love that area to include Taylor park and crested Butte.
  8. Advice on the need for the MOPAR Oversized Spare Tire Carrier Kit

I do not. I sold it as a complete kit.
  9. Emergency question

I know right! My buddy who also has a diesel had the same issue. Obviously everyone knows how helpful the dealership is but I brought it to their attention the first time around and asked for the thicker ones and obviously they were either clueless or just didn't care because I got the same...
  10. Emergency question

My diesel did that twice to my two front liners. What I learned was that they had two different thickness of wheel liners. I'm not sure what determines which ones you get but my 21 diesel had very thin ones. I noticed that the 392 ones where much thicker. Finally on the third warranty...
  11. Roof racks?

We have been running the rhino rack pioneer platform with backbone and it has been solid. We ran it for about a year with a tent on it. It went from Colorado all the way to the Brooks range in Alaska. We toured all around Alaska for three weeks and it was solid. It has been all over Colorado...
  12. Diff Covers

It depends on the year of jeep and which axles you have. The diff covers do not have a drain but both of my axles have a diff drain on them. At some point jeep did away with, I forget one or both of the drains. We have 2021 Diesel Rubicon. In that pic if you zoom in you can see the diff drain on...
  13. Diff Covers

We have the Dana diff covers on our rig and I'm happy with them. They are stout and have done the job.
  14. Metal Cloak ball joints vs Dynatrac?

Make a trip to Colorado Springs. I have a 21 year jeep tech that did my regear for 1300 for parts and labor. He has a very nice shop at his house. He's done the warranty work on my jeep and he did the regear. He or I have been the only ones to touch it. When fuel pumps become available he will...
  15. 40liter vs 50liter fridge on 2 week road trip

We run an iceco jp50 also. We run it on the driver's side facing north and south. The fridge fits perfect between the front and rear tie down points in the floor. I wired in an arb fridge kit directly off of the battery to insure wire size was sufficient. We have run this fridge for three years...
  16. 3.73 only in eco? 37’s

I regeared ours to 4.56's in 37's and would do it again in a heartbeat. We live at altitude in Colorado and tow an off-road trailer part of the time. We ran the jeep for 10k miles on 37's before we regeared and it wasn't horrible but we weren't towing either.
  17. Eco diesel gear set question

We are running 37's on our eco diesel and we regeared to 4.56's and I'd do it again in a heart beat. We live in Colorado and tow an off-road trailer so we definitely noticed a difference. We ran for approximately 10k miles on 37's with 3.73 gears and it wasn't bad.
  18. Owners with 40k+ miles on their 37s

I completely understand. Here are some pics of my tires. Took some tread depth measurements too. The lowest tire and highest tire. I try to stay on top of a five tire rotation. Sorry not the cleanest, we where up snowboarding last weekend.
  19. Owners with 40k+ miles on their 37s

Love the color combo. I grew up in Vegas and off-roaded and raced all through the desert. Most of my buddies I wheel with are in Vegas. I think an AT would still serve you well. Most of my buddies out there are running AT's or a hybrid tire.
