New Baja Designs LP6 DOT headlight

Haven’t seen it posted here yet, but got an email and i’m definitely intrigued. I’ve seen bikes and jeeps with LP6s already but they tend to blind anything in front cause ya know, offroad light.

Would love to see them compared to the diode dynamics ultra pro max and the oracles.

I got lp9s last May. One light started to have mad condensation and both lights have black coating coming of badly. Might make a thread about it later to see if any one else got that. Not like ive had them over ten winters rather just one so far.
Anyhow, so id be bit concerned on that side of things. Knowing that oem headlights are solid.
Perhaps would have loved to see cool ring around like Diode I believe but then again LP series look bad ass even without the DRL rings.

I wonder if this thing is actually DOT legal, or if it just meets the DOT guidelines. Meaning they haven't submitted it to the DOT for testing, because I'd think the DOT would only allow testing in each platform, not wholesale.

I wonder if this thing is actually DOT legal, or if it just meets the DOT guidelines. Meaning they haven't submitted it to the DOT for testing, because I'd think the DOT would only allow testing in each platform, not wholesale.

From my understanding, and I can be wrong, but I’ve heard DOT doesn’t actually test, but puts out the specifications etc for manufacturers.

You’re not the first to mention the coating peeling off, at least I’ve seen it mentioned a couple of times. Wonder if they were able to tweak it

I don't actually see HF building a plug and play headlight system that is DOT compliant.

These are sick! Going to do my front lights after Christmas. Prerequisite has been that the same company has to do DOT headlights, DOT fog lights, and a 4" pod for bumper mounts. @BajaDesigns just took the lead. Now to find a black market buyer for my left kidney so I can afford the dream!

Baja Designs has a lifetime warranty. I had a set of LP9s on my Ram TRX that started to have the powder coating fade after 3 years of use. I called Baja Designs, and they said no problem, we'll fix it. I sent them to Baja Designs and within a few days they sent them back with entirely new light housings, not just recoated ones. The lighting elements were fine, so they moved them to new housings and sent them to me. The new ones have remained fade free, going on 3 years now, and are being used on my 2-door JLR

These are 100% DOT legal. All proper stamping is on the light as well.

Hey Brahian, have you seen the lights in person? I have 24 JL Led headlights and they suck, however was there a huge difference between the two?
Lastly any discount for this forum?
