Finally received both @Baja Designs LP6s and the harness. Installed last night / this morning. Overall install was pretty simple with the BD upfitter lockout harness. I hooked the low and high beams to the factory Aux switches 1 and 2 and the backlight to Fuse F50 (always on when the ignition is on) via a fuse tap. These things are stupid bright, and I think really complete the look of the front end.

Backlight, always on when the Jeep is running:

Low beams (Aux 1):

High beams (Aux 2):

The BD lockout harness (pictured below) will lock out the low beam if both Aux 1 and 2 are active to prevent burning the lights out (per BD, running both high and low at the same time will burn up the circuitry in the lights):

Fuse tap into F50 for the backlight is pictured below, cut a small hole into the fuse box to run the wire through. The harness is very long and leaves way too much extra wire, which I had to just stuff next to the fuse box. I’m out of space now with the factory Aux switches. When I get the cowl lights I’m going to also get the SPOD BantamX touchscreen switch panel, at which time I’ll cut down the harnesses and clean up all the wire. The BantamX has a lockout function so I won’t need the relays in the BD harness I’ll cut them out.

LP6 are insane, a true one and done for me ?

I have to ask, are you concerned with the light being that far out on the bumper? I considered it when installing on Jeepeto III, but went for the two holes either side of the winch to provide just a bit more protection as they aren’t cheap ? That said, it looks great, especially with the amber squadrons in the fog pockets. How do you like the low beam setting? Do you run it on road? I didn’t end up hooking mine up for lack of aux switching but I’ve always been curious

I don’t mind running them that far out. There is still plenty of bumper ahead of them. They aren’t DOT approved I wouldn’t use them on the road. I just installed them on haven’t had a chance to really see them in action at night, just in my garage. I’m going to do some night comparisons and will post some results in the coming days.

Also nice looking rig you got there!

How do these look in the front camera? Do they block much of the view? I want to put some LP4s on my bumper and was looking at the holes more to the rear to avoid blocking the camera.

They don’t block the view at all really. I have them in the center and I mainly use the front camera for tire placement so there is no obstruction on the sides. That said even in the center I don’t notice them at all.

Thanks for the great write up. I was getting ready to install my lights and curious if you would change anything other than cleaning up the wiring.. my biggest question is where to tap for the DRL’s

Wouldn’t change anything. Very happy with the lights, super bright. I got a simple fuse tap from Autozone and tapped the DRLs into Fuse F50 which was an empty fuse bay that is always hot when the engine is on (see pics above).

Well no smoke. Y you’re right from my short drive. These things are stupid bright. to finish cleaning up the wiring and I plan to shorten some of these harnesses. I think they’re design said that you could run the bumpers on the jeep following behind you.

where did you mount the relays? Did you simply tie them to anything ? I can’t find anything that looks like it makes sense as an existing bolt to.

Did you get around to shortening the harness? Just curious if you soldered or used crimp connectors. I’ve heard arguments both ways for soldering quality connectors over the years and tend towards the crimp. I think the problem that most people have is they buy the cheap connectors from the parts store and don’t buy quality.

Thanks again. I’ll get some pictures up soon. Minor mounted right where yours are except I do have the Mopar grill guard for anyone they are close but they do clear. I’ll post some pictures from the side too when I get a chance..

They look great! I haven’t done anything with the harness yet, have a switchpro on the list at which point I won’t need the harness as it has a built in lockout.
