Sorry, I can feel your frustration. But there are better options out there and ones that will not cost $2500. We would recommend that you purchase a set of ORACLE Lighting Flush Mount Tail Lights and install them yourself. You will improve the look of the corners and rear of your Jeep and insure that the lights are inside the bumper space to protect them. The reverse lights are extremely bright and provide great visibility when backing up.
Jeep Wrangler JL Never Buying Another Jeep DSC07326
We provide install videos on our website and an install shouldn't take 30-45 minutes. Worse case scenario you can search on our website for an installer in your area and pay them to install. The hourly labor charge shouldn't be too high. That might be worth the extra cash for you.

We published a blog about OEM costs of damaged parts versus buying our lights and the cost savings is staggering and you get upgraded parts and performance. Click here for that blog.

We offer an exclusive forum discount: WRANGLER10 at checkout on OracleLights.com

I guess if the quality from the factory were better, there wouldn't be such a big market for companies like Oracle Lighting.

From the reviews I have read on this forum, they seem to be able to produce units with a consistent level of quality.

I agree, but even though I really like the Oracle tail lights from what I've read on this forum and elsewhere they have problems and longevity is an issue. I was waiting to see if mopar came out with a flush fitting tail light for our wranglers. The Oracle tail lights are a great looking light.

Perhaps op would prefer a Grenadier

The Build:
*Scottish White
*Smooth and Rough Pack
*black leather seats
*saddle leather package
*High aux package
*Tow package
*18" steels / KO2's
Notwithstanding the foregoing, this has been my experience in the six (6) weeks that I have had my Grenadier:
The Issues:
[Please see photos and videos of all issues indicated below]
*ALL door seals have had to be replaced:
The dealer represented and warranted at time of delivery that ALL seals (i.e., doors, rear cargo, safari windows) were all water tight and had been tested twice.
However, all of them leak.
Having the experiences below, there is absolutely no way that the dealer could not have been aware of this issue. It is absolutely blatant.
*The Safari Windows leak:
They leak into the headliner, electronics, dashboard, and footwell from what I can tell so far.
Water flooded into the car from behind the rear view mirror, passenger door footwell and headliner. I had used my very low pressure hose to get rid of bird droppings; no car wash, no high pressure wash. A hose. Now, the interior is ruined... after 6 weeks.
*Headliner Stain:
Headliner permanently stained and dealer says i'll have to live with it.
I will not "live with this". As a $90K car, why would I even have to be dealing with this?
The previous car I had, the dealer and manufacturer bent over backwards to make sure that you were happy and that the car was 100%. This has been the OPPOSITE experience.
*Paint Gouge & "globby" undisclosed fix:
Approx two weeks after purchase, I noticed that the dealer covered up a gouge in the paint on the driver door with what looks like nail polish (photo attached). It's GLOBBED on. Dealer says if I want the original factory paint then there's nothing he can do. He can re paint the door but no guarantee re: color match. Unacceptable.
*Interior damage was present at delivery (I did not see it and the dealer did not disclose):
The driver side door appears to have scratch marks as if someone took a knife to it. One very long scratch is at driver side knee area is present. I only noticed it upon opening up the door to show a friend the car and she spotted the scratches.
The dealer begrudgingly offered to replace parts a month ago. No response. They don't pick up or call back.
Today I connected with them and they won't ship my local dealer the parts, I have to drive 150 miles to where I purchased the car to pick them up and have them installed.
This is unacceptable as this should never have passed inspection in the first place and now the dealer is telling me that they never told me that they would ship the parts to my local Ineos dealer.
Why is it that I have to get audibly upset in order to have anything done with these Ineos dealers and the company itself? I don't want to be that person, but I have no issue with doing so should the circumstances require.
*Rear Cargo area leaks:
Leak occurs even when doors are closed. Rubber gasket is warped beyond belief.
*Used parts provided and represented as "new":
Dealer offered to "throw in" rubber floor mats as the car has carpet, which I did not want, however, the rubber mats he provided were USED. They were not sealed and when I told him that they appeared used, he made unacceptable excuses.
*Driver Seat Fails to Engage:
Driver seat doesn't engage OR it engages when I have had to stop suddenly - point being that I pushed the seat back and forth hard to make sure the seat was locked and by all means I thought it was. However, it wasn't, and I didn't know until it could have been too late. The seat also engages "one click" to the left or the right. IMO, the "unengagement" of the seat poses a serious risk of injury, death, etc.
*Electronics have the usual quirks

*Carpetting is not cut properly and EVERYTHING sticks to it.
It costs approx. $5-6K to install the plastic flooring
*Grinding Noise (rear drive train):
This is concerning. At low RPM's, when I tap the accelerator and let go, just before I stop I hear a grinding noise. Some think it's the exhaust, however, the "grinding" vs "exhaust" note has become more pronounced.
*Saddle Leather Steering Wheel:
Buttons are "squishy" and a new steering wheel had to be ordered. I've owned the car 6 weeks and it needs a new steering wheel. Interesting.

That sucks and I hate that it has happened to you, but you did buy a first year vehicle made by a company that has never made a passenger car before and that company was trying to copy one of the least reliable and worst built vehicles of all time. Considering the reputation of the old Land Rover Discovery that they copied, all of the things you mentioned could be considered as a faithful homage to the original.

If you think that's sloppy you should see the way my fellow aerospace employees dress. 😆

Also, could you point out the part that has the "dirty old assembly line?"
well if you watched, you wouldn't ask. But let me point it out. The nasty greasy floor is in the thumbnail. If that's not satisfying, look at 9:55 to 11:30. The floor and layout are simply disgusting.
Plus I hope your fellow aerospace employees are not those who make Boeing products : )

I'm trying to find another opposite example from a Japanese factory which is as old.

‘21 Rubicon with 70,000 miles.

Rear led parking lamp stopped working. Took it to my local Jeep dealership (Don K Whitefish Montana) and was given the news, “this is happening with more and more Rubicon’s but Jeep won’t fix it since the led is built into the fixture, it can’t be changed like a lightbulb and it will cost you $2,500.71 to buy a new fixture”
There's a recall in the works for the brake light / tire carrier. Don't pay for it.

Sounds like there is a longevity issue regardless of whether to choose OEM or Oracle. Might as well go with the cheaper option.

For the number of people that bitch on here about their Jeep there sure are a lot of people that bitch at people that refuse to buy another one.
What if you only go to a game to complain about the team playing? If a person doesn't want to buy a JL, more power to them; however, there are a lot of other forums or things that they can do with their time instead of wasting space on the JL Forum.

I would still be willing to trade you my Jeep for your Ineos. It's one of coolest looking rides on the road.
Objectively speaking, that thing has remarkably few issues for a 1st gen car from a company that has never made a car before.
My neighbor has also had several niggles, but his dealer has been been great and trying to fix everything under warranty.
Since I bought my Jeep new, they have tried to weasel out of everything. When I contacted corporate, their response was always... sorry, we have no control over what the dealers do and cannot help you, but thanks for the 60k.

Not sure that Toyota in the states is much better than other domestically produced stuff. Your Toyotas are produced in the US, from what I understand.
In other counties they get far better options with respect to engines. Not to mention, the 70 series. They stopped selling that in Germany though. So, the Jeep was the only option unless you wanted to pay 40k more and get a G-Klasse.

A wrangler really is too expensive for what it is. Then again, nearly everything is far more expensive than what is reasonable.

I understand what the OP is saying.

Some strange things have been happening in the last few years with Jeeps. The prices have been increasing steadily. At the same time, units have been leaving the factories with significant quality control issues. Right now, the Jeep brand is in trouble.

I would not expect to pay 50,000 or more for a brand new vehicle and have the kinds of quality issues that I have been reading about. If Ford and Toyota are having the same issues with quality then shame on them also.

The UAW has a lot to say about wages and benefits for workers. I would also want to hear them talk about improving the quality of the products the workers make.
CEO Carlos Tavares received a 56% boost in total pay to $39.5 Million dollars - I would expect he should be driving the improved quality of the products, right?

I have no insider information about who will be doing what.

at 57,000 miles, my dash started blinking for the rear diff being engaged although it wasn’t. Again, Jeep knows it a faulty part. The sensor in the diff wasn’t made “water proof” and goes bad sitting all day in diff fluid. The entire rear drive shaft would need to be replaced and again, cost thousands.

anytime I drive off a paved road I get warning lights randomly going off on my dash. Come to find out again, this happens all the time and it even has a name among owners, the Christmas Tree of Death.

I was told today at the above dealership that Jeeps are no longer made for serious offroad driving. They did a study and found most never see dirt so they stopped building them for it

The new Jeeps just aren’t worth the price anymore. Switching back to a Toyota when I can afford to.
Poor baby... mommy must be so sad to hear you cry and whine. Suck it and put on your big girl panties....
