Thanks for all the great advice. Until I can get time for a chalk test, I aired down to 34psi to try out for a while. Living in Alabama, they'll gain 2-3psi just from the weather so may creep down a little lower in the summer. I'll post some results later on in case anyone else searches this in the future.
I'm not sure what Alabama has to do with tire pressure, but they'll go up, not down in the summer.

That's what I said. In Alabama tire pressures shoot up throughout the day due to the ridiculous heat. I didn't say anything about pressure dropping due to weather. It rarely gets cold enough here for decreased pressure.

20s are kinda' weird for a J**p; unless it's just to be looked at, 20s are going to make it *awkward* to do what it's for with that tiny bit of sidewall.

that said, to determine road pressures, try the 10% Rule checking to see how much tire pressure varies when in use.
start with a Cold pressure (from sitting at rest out of the sun for at least a couple of hours) and then see how much the pressure rises when being driven for a long while. it pressures rise more than about 10%, you're getting too much sidewall flex creating heat, and your starting Cold pressure was too low.
monitor and adjust as necessary.

i have no idea if any pressures might work in the sand for a 20" wheel; i don't know that you're ever going to be able to get it into the single-digits where you get the 'snail foot' profile that's the most benefit in sand with that tiny sidewall.

Newb to the board, but did try searching...
Snagged a nice 21 Willy's with 20 inch wheels and 35x12.5 Nitros. Not sure what psi to run the tires for normal driving. Currently at 40psi which seems a little high. Any folks with similar setups that could chime in? All of the info I found was for 17-inch wheels.
Bonus: how far can I air these down in sand without breaking the seal?
TIA
