Navigation maps outdated

I just got my 2022 Rubicon last week and was using the navigation map. I realized that it’s clearly outdated by several years. Can’t believe it’s that old. U Connect site has updates listed for only 2021 which I would assume I have.

Uconnect navmaps have been and always will be out of date and poorly maintained, not to mention way too expensive to update. I can't remember the last time I actually used it instead of nav on my phone.

This is true for nearly all built-in nav systems. Manufacturers want you to spend the extra money to update through them when updates are available. Total scam IMO.

I think I’ll just plug in my Garmin 760 with free updates.

Google maps with CarPlay or Android Auto.

Built in stuff is never up to date.

It really only matters for locating business and such. The roads haven’t moved.

The only time I ever use the nav is when I need it in the Adirondacks because of poor cell service.

When you plan a route Google Maps typically asks if you want to download along the route. It's also pretty simple to have it download large swaths of whatever states you're visiting.

I'm glad mine didn't have nav. Stopped using long time ago when I discovered Waze. Now I just plug in phone and carplay takes care of the rest. And with Waze you don't have to have a destination to alert you on speed traps, etc.

It was working better this year than last. If you started the route with nav and ran out of cell service bit did not turn off the Jeep, Google maps worked fine. If you needed a fresh route on RT 8 north of Speculator you were out of luck with CarPlay.
