Read thru a bunch of the Tazer threads and have not see an answer to this....
My wife has a 2019 JLU that I'm adding the proximity door locks to. I plan to use the Tazer Mini to turn that feature on. Once I've done that, I'd like to use it on my 2022 JLU for all the other features it has (tire size, PIN lock, etc.).

My question is will the 2019 retain the proximity locks setting after the Tazer is unmarried from it?

To clarify what was posted above - The Proximity Entry (ProxEntry) setting on the Tazer is a "Vehicle Setting", which requires the Tazer to be connected and married to the vehicle. Unmarrying the Tazer, restores everything back to the pre-marry vehicle state.

You might want to consider looking into JSCAN. I believe with that you can set Proximity Entry and it should be permanent unless disabled using JSCAN again.

Well guys I appreciate your input, however.......

I should've gone straight to the source before starting this thread and read thru the documentation on the Tazer web site.
According to the Tazer Mini User Guide on the web site, enabling the Proximity Locks is a "vehicle setting", and as such "These changes (vehicle settings) will continue to operate after the Tazer Mini is unplugged".

Going on that information I've got a Mini on the way to me. :)

I encourage you to get up to speed in regard to the Tazer JL before you install the Tazer JL on either of your JL's.

It's real obvious by your last post you did not at all understand what you read in the Tazer JL instructions..

...And to make things worse, you totally discounted the correct info you were given by other's in this thread..

Realize there is a big learning curve in regard to the Tazer JL. The Tazer JL Mini will bite you so to speak if you are not very very careful.

Once you have a clue so to speak, you will realize you will want to use JSCAN for your Wife's JL to deal with proximity and the Tazer JL Mini and JSCAN (both) on your JL.

So you're saying the instructions from the manufacturer are wrong?

I'll be sure to post back here once I turn on the Proximity Locks on the '19 and unplug/unmarry the unit.

Proximity Locks is in Vehicle Settings, Sub-menu "Other".

I reached out to you just now in a forum message.

NO, the ZAutomotive Tazer JL instructions are not wrong... Yes, if you just unplug the Tazer JL the setting(s) you made/changed with it stay in place..... but when you unmarry the Tazer JL to use in another JL, all goes back to virgin setting wise.

You just need to get it clear in your head, that all you do to your JL setting wise with the Tazer JL Mini, is lets say undone when you unmarry the Tazer JL Mini.

Thus... you cannot do the proximity enable and then unmarry because when you unmarry all goes back to virgin setting wise lets say.

The key is the difference between "unplug" and "unmarry". If you don't unmarry from your wife's Jeep, it won't work on yours. And if you do unmarry, the changed settings are gone.
