Hi Guys,

Quick question concerning the Z Automotive Tazer JL Mini before I make the $300 purchase.

Can I unplug the Tazer Mini after changing any settings and keep the adjusted setting? Or unmarry it then unplug and still keep the adjusted setting?

I really just want to change the tire size to fix my speedometer. The dealership is charging me $150 to recalibrate my speedometer which is absurd.

Thanks,

You can unplug it and keep the settings, if you unmarry it then unplug it you lose all the settings.
Just remember to plug it back in and unmarry before going to a dealership.

If you unplug it, you lose the live features. Which, I guess the only live feature that's truly worthwhile in my opinion is most useful for manuals. It has a feature where if you hold two specific buttons, it'll hold all four brakes for you while you do your clutch and throttle dance when you're in an otherwise precarious position. So fuckin useful in a manual.

But yeah, you can certainly adjust settings then unplug it.
plug in. marry. adjust settings. unplug.
*oh no dealership visit*
plug in. unmarry. (settings return to default) unplug.

I suggest you get a jscan for your application. Its much cheaper (mine total cast was like $70) and it come with more permanent settings, better data and diagnostic tools.

Tazer is good for the live functions when its plugged in.
I second this. I have both Tazer and JSCAN and a solid case can be made for just JSCAN. Tazer is great for disabling ESS though. But for just tire size JSCAN will save you headaches (not worrying about unmarrying to visit dealer) and money.

Is it the OBD JScan? Can I also unplug it after calibrating the tire size and retained the adjusted setting permanently or does it have to be plugged in indefinitely?

Correct, you can make your changes and unplug. I just leave mine in my glovebox. I have both and I use j scan for permanent
Changes and tazer for live features.

I agree 100% with the JScan. Make a change, unhook it, settings still there. Easy!
