What do you mean by "door pins"? Door alignment pins like this:
Screenshot 2023-02-13 at 12.11.44 PM.webp

If so, do you leave them in instead of screwing the nuts back on, or do you just use them to make it easier to remove your doors but then have to unscrew the alignment pins, and reinstall the factory nuts?
Yes, I got rid of the nuts. The rounded alignment pins help with install along with helping to eliminate chipping the paint on the hings vs the factory threaded end. Also they stay on after doors are installed

I actually like the factory antenna. But then, I never take it through a car wash. I'm a bucket, sponge, hose in the driveway kinda guy.
As am I...in the summer...have fun doing that in your driveway in NH in single digit temps! Luckily a new car wash just opened by me with 2 self spray bays, I use those no matter the temp in the winter, use my own power washer and foam cannon and such in the spring, summer, fall...

This is an interesting thread. It really shows how different we all are. I think the dead pedal idea is stupid, but some of you put this as a must have. I thought the screen protector thing was really dumb, but I thought I'd get one and see. I put it on and I like it. I think it's still unnecessary, but I like the way it looks and feels. I just got my 2023 and it's winter so I haven't done a single thing to it yet. But I will. And it'll probably not be what the majority of you are doing. I don't think I think like a lot of people on here.
The dead pedal is an absolute must have for me! Prior to getting one, there was no where I could place my left leg and be comfortable. With the dead pedal I can cruise along for hours!

But then how can you put the hood all the way back up against the wind shield. If I'm under the hood, that's what I usually do.
As others have said, our Quick Disconnect end fittings allow you to lay the hood back. Please see video below:

As an added option, could always order from Alibaba / AliExpress. Takes a little longer to get here, but you pay half as much as you do in the States for basically the exact same thing.
$40 w/ Free Shipping Black JL Hood Struts from China

https://a.aliexpress.com/_mNkdkWw

$34 w/ $6 shipping Multi-Color Options JL Hood Struts from China

https://a.aliexpress.com/_m0fZakA
(The links weren't working for me so I added a physical address you can copy and paste into your browser)

So you could order from Amazon and have it in a week or two, or you can save $60 and have it in 2 months. Depending what it is I usually prefer to wait the time and save the money, but everybody's different for different reasons.

I bought hood struts for my wife's 2020 Subaru Forester Sport 2 years ago from AliExpress and to this day I've had zero issues with them. They come with the same mounting hardware that you get when you pay a hundred bucks on Amazon, but you're basically buying them from the manufacturer.

What happens is A LOT of sellers on Amazon and Etsy buy stuff from Alibaba, and then mark it up so they can make a profit. I'm not saying that's true with companies like Red Line, but after looking up a little bit of info on the company, they're pretty much a buy and sell warehouse. No manufacturing going on there.

The table is probably where they slap their stickers on stuff made in China! You might laugh but major companies do that! And then you're paying an extra 60 bucks for a sticker with their name on it.

Redline and the stuff I linked to from China has the same mounting hardware. You tell me which is the better deal!

Please don't make statements/assumptions about a business when you have no idea what you are talking about.

We have been designing hood lift systems for over 20 years and have applications for over 350 vehicles. We are proud to say that our products are manufactured in the United States and are of the highest quality with a 4 year warranty. Our mounting brackets are zinc plated and then black powder coated for the ultimate in corrosion protection. We are a sponsor on this forum and if there is ever an issue, we take care of our customers. The links you provided are a cheap Chinese copy of our product, they even copied our pictures in their listing. Obviously their products are going to be less, they don't do any engineering work and they are produced in a low cost country. If there is ever an issue, good luck getting it resolved.

Everyone had a choice on where to purchase their products, but if you continue to support businesses that copy and add no value to the United States economy, how much longer do you think small businesses will survive in United States?

Put the shovel down and go back to doing whatever it is you're doing on your ride and stop piling on this vendor, just because you did poor research on them. You want to cheap out and give even more money to the chi-comms, good for you, but don't flame a business that keeps it in the US of A and has to charge more because it costs more to do it in the US of A. Just move along, and drop the shovel.

I don't believe everything everyone tells me. The fact of matter is when it comes to businesses wording is extremely important. Wording can keep you out of court, wording can mislead people, wording can get you sales.

I raised some very valid points. You should go back and read my response in full. If they are truly as transparent as they say they are, Just like other sponsors on this website, they should have zero issues answering my questions. Who knows, maybe my next order of hood struts will be from them. ;)
I read your post. You don't believe everything everyone tells you, unless you incorrectly look up something, then you'll believe THAT, and let everyone know, and everyone else is supposed to believe it. 10-4.

I just noticed a few strange things. Things that stick out, like how on the main page of your website it states "Made in the USA, In business for over 20 years". Per your LinkedIn page you guys were founded in 2002, that makes sense. I just wonder if your parts are manufactured in the United States or if they are assembled in the United States or if your company is made in the United States? Because those are three very different things. It's just kind of strange that "Made in the USA" is not on your company bio or your LinkedIn page. I know companies often play word games like that. It's just strange that if it's such a selling point you wouldn't list it in your company bio, because it is a pretty big selling point. Many people will support companies specifically because they are made in the United States.

I get you guys are based out of Ann Arbor, Michigan, but where are your parts manufactured?

Not trying to be a jerk here, just I would think this information would be readily available. Most companies are proud to say where their products are manufactured. It's just kind of strange you guys don't. Maybe because I'm autistic and read into things too much, but I'm just saying a lot of red flags here.
I think MADE IN THE USA on the front page of our website is pretty clear, but if it makes you feel better our gas springs are manufactured in North Carolina and our mounting hardware is manufactured here in Michigan.

A lot of red flags? Huh?

Holy Chit....

He's one of those that you would just slowly back away from as you realize that no amount of common sense or arguing is going to do a damn thing. That and he could always go postal!

A few cards short of a full deck doesn't even come close to describing that mess

@jcruse64 You're acting like a communist trying to stifle my questions.

It's very clear that you're not open to new ideas. You have your opinion made up and that's fine. I have questions, I should be allowed to ask questions. You're not going to bully me into not being curious. I made one post about this company, they responded and I responded to them. At this point you are carrying this on like a troll. I've made my questions, @Redline Tuning can answer, or not. I really don't mind either way. I had forgotten all about my initial post until they responded. It's not a big deal. You have a good day guy, don't get too worked up about other people exercising their freedoms. :captain:
You were the only one in this thread acting the bully, Sparky. I just advised you to drop the shovel you were using to dig a hole for yourself with. Never threatened or bullied you in any way, nor did I write anything negative other than on your researching skills, and I wasn't off the mark on that. Your approach towards Redline was not cool. It was good of you to acknowledge to Redline that you were wrong, and also that you amended your posts in that regard, and I give you full credit for that action.

Back to customizing.

Anyone recommend a good screen protector for the 8" screen or are they all the same on Amazon?
