1st Comfort mod: dead pedal

1st convienence mod: Hood struts

1st off road mod: quick disconnects and basic recovery gear.

From there it really depends on how you're going to use your Jeep.

Mine is a daily driver/work truck that also gets some mid level wheeling on the weekend. So my focus was on keeping drivability while boosting off road performance.

Hi all, I am expecting my first Jeep next week. I have purchased a Jeep Sahara. I was reading in Google that there are several must do customization require in Jeep, like seat cover, steel bumper, entry guards, hood latches. I am not sure what are the must do and which are just advertisement. Can you please guide

A Sahara doesn’t “need” anything for daily driving, or for most casual, weekend offroad driving. One quick, cheap idea though - buy a stubby radio antenna (many are available on Amazon for less than $30) and replace the long, whippy factory antenna. The factory antenna works perfectly, but it’s not great inside a car wash tunnel.
The "whip" antenna has a design reason beyond radio reception. It marks two inches of clearance from the roofline. If the antenna drags, you're near the limits of clearing your Jeep under an obstacle.

This is an interesting thread. It really shows how different we all are. I think the dead pedal idea is stupid, but some of you put this as a must have. I thought the screen protector thing was really dumb, but I thought I'd get one and see. I put it on and I like it. I think it's still unnecessary, but I like the way it looks and feels. I just got my 2023 and it's winter so I haven't done a single thing to it yet. But I will. And it'll probably not be what the majority of you are doing. I don't think I think like a lot of people on here.

Can not stress enough that you should get the hood strut:

Redline Tuning Hood Strut

It will make being under your hood wonderful. As others in past have mentioned…should have come from the factory with them as standard.

But then how can you put the hood all the way back up against the wind shield. If I'm under the hood, that's what I usually do.

Drive it for awhile before doing anything. For us, we decided on only a few small things so far. Seat covers, knowing there would be lots of sand. (Florida) Since we like having the freedom tops off a lot, we got a mesh net to help with the sun, and we also added door pins to make taking the doors off a little easier.
I have a wish list a mile long though! ;) Oh and like it was said above, have ducks on hand
What do you mean by "door pins"? Door alignment pins like this:

If so, do you leave them in instead of screwing the nuts back on, or do you just use them to make it easier to remove your doors but then have to unscrew the alignment pins, and reinstall the factory nuts?

i tossed a set of front and rear grab handles. I ordered them after I got the Jeep instead of from the factor. Didn’t feel like paying stupid amount of interest on them.
Also ordered a trunk mat from extreme terrain only because I do quite a bit of work outside. Wanted somewhere to put mud covered work boots and snow/salt covered snow boots.

I actually like the factory antenna. But then, I never take it through a car wash. I'm a bucket, sponge, hose in the driveway kinda guy.

The struts have QD ends that let you lay the hood all the way back.

Seat covers to keep the seats protected always strike me as odd. Why try to protect a seat that you will never see because it lives up under a cover? It’s kinda like not having sex with your girl friend to keep her fresh for he next guy…

Edit: I do see the value in seat covers if your are slipping them on for an offroad excursion and taking the back off to reveal your spot free seats for the ride to work.
I see it more like not fisting my girlfriend so she's as nice on the 100th ride as the first. Besides, stock cloth seats aren't all that great to look at anyway.

One thing that I would warn you about is adding a lot of weight to the front end with a steel bumper and big winch. I had to do a front end (only) lift, and it degraded the on-road handling in twisty mountain roads (it was never a sports car to start with). Skid plates never hurt, depending on what you already have. Carrying extra fuel can be important depending on your circumstances.

i drove mine for a while, then figured out as i went what i wanted/needed. first thing was a 2 piece alien sunshade. Im a redhead, and even though it was december i got sunburnt with the top open. I leave it on all the time now. Plus it helps a little bit if you get caught in the rain without your top lol.
front and rear diff skids, i realized i had hit my diffs. Mirror for going doorless. Floor mats, rock sliders. The rest was just some cosmetic, personalization stuff. My 2 favorites are my color matched dash, and ceramic coating. Believe it or not it helps with washing bugs off and mud off. Almost forgot my ARB twin for airing up.
