The only problem with that it fills the tank so fast with unused gasoline that it spills out the fill spout.

What I do instead of turning off AC is run GY 35 x 12:50 x 17 on the rear, up front I run 29 x 7:50 x 12 on the front. So what happens is I am driving downhill all the time, talk about saving gas!!!!
Wait what? That would work perfectly if you ran 2 different gear ratio`s matching the tires. Use some KY jelly to massage into the paint for less resistance and you will get some hardcore coeffincey and with less drag with the air and it would easily get you 4-5 more MPG . I read the article in

Disagree - you breathe inside the Jeep. Heck, around here you can see fog form on the windows as the sun shines from the opposite side.
Iowa - you won't unplug that thing for sure.
It was always a big problem before car makers figured out that he helped to run the AC in the winter as well. The air here certainly isn't dry with humans inside and the heat going. You'll fog it up badly.
Heck, with my older cars, if I drive in the winter I carry paper towels and even an ice scraper INSIDE the car. One of them i had a dealer-accessory rear window defogger that was used a lot in our up and down weather in the winter months. They sold like hot cakes in our areas back then.
It can be so humid in the winter here that we have freezing fog.
Yeah I got to say, after living in Chicago for a while, the AC running alongside the heater is always a good idea! Nothing quite light drying out the hot air blowing on your cold windows.

Speaking of which, do you guys know how condensation forms? :CWL: ;)

I had to try to explain to a former coworker that had never left CO that water condenses on the outside of glasses. He'd never experienced that.

No problem. Just throw 4.56 out back and 3.73 up front. That gets you in the right neighborhood.

Frankly, I have trouble with the "2 mpg" figure - having driven vehicles with the AC on, and then with the AC off (completely) I can't ever say I've seen that much gain on anything I've owned.
That seems like a lot of drop for a modern vehicle that so closely controls things to squeeze out every last fraction of a mile for each gallon.
2 just seems like a lot of change.
But then some people base things on just one tank or even part of a tank, and you just can't do that.

You're questioning a 10-ish percent improvement in gas mileage based on disabling something that's already mostly disabled???

I pay a lot of attention to my MPGs on my EcoDiesel. I will definitely notice a difference if there is one to be seen..

I pulled the fuse earlier, with a fresh tank of fuel, I tend to go through a tank once a week, so probably will be able to see some signs as to any changes within the first week.

Should be interesting. Can't wait to see the difference, if there is any. ?

Be careful as a change in humidity, temperature, a few mph in the wind, even the fuel itself (winter vs. summer) and so on can matter. One tank is hardly telling.
I can see a change from one tank to another just because it's a different week with different weather.
Diesel is less likely to see a difference than a gasser due to the sheer torque - an AC compressor is something a diesel laughs at - you are hardly tickling it.

Defrost,
Hell I remember The CJ's, rag top, in upstate NY winters. baby in the back in a car seat couldn't even see her ,my wife had her so bundled up . Had that CJ-5 on defrost . More like my thumb going in a circle was the defroster. Defrost you say !!!
Defrost in my old CJ-7 was a rag I carried with me. Good thing is that in a CJ you can cover the entire inside windshield with your right hand from the driver's seat.
I carried a small squeegee in my old CJ5. Upgrading the heater fan motor to the Blazer motor helped, but I still carried the squeegee.
Good times.

You shouda’ got gas, not the oil burner. It’s for gas only. Just plug it in and look at the fantastic improvements. Wow, “Stage 2”, I can’t wait until the next “Stage 3 Xtreme Max” comes out.

There are a few of us on here who remember the days of J C Whitney Catalog. If you bought every item they had that would make the car more HP and more MPG, you would end up with a car you never need to fill again after your first tank and be the world record speed holder, too.

If there any OLD Timers on here say if you remember those Catalogs...I sure do.

WOW, I ran out of some KY Jelly. Good grief, I was burning brakes just trying to slow it down after that...thanks for the advice!

Remember to get the warm kind for in the winter and the cool type for the summer. Might help with burn outs too.
