2019 Wrangler JL 3.6. Your air-conditioning compressor is running more often then what you think. If it’s winter time, remove the fuse for your AC clutch (mine F18?)and you will see a gas improvement of 2 miles per gallon.

I'm guessing you don't live somewhere where you need your defroster?

yup if you need your defrost you will gladly give up a little mpg to keep the fog off the inside of your windows.

Hell I remember The CJ's, rag top, in upstate NY winters. baby in the back in a car seat couldn't even see her ,my wife had her so bundled up . Had that CJ-5 on defrost . More like my thumb going in a circle was the defroster. Defrost you say !!!

Interesting. Might try that on my 3.0 just to see. I completely understand that my defroster might not be as effective. I would think I’d have some defrost just not as effective. Non-AC cars have defrost

you will still have your defrost but you will also have more fogging up inside than without it.

Defrost in my old CJ-7 was a rag I carried with me. Good thing is that in a CJ you can cover the entire inside windshield with your right hand from the driver's seat.

Yep, owned one in my youth. Just blows hot air on the windshield with the humidity thus why you kept a rag on your dash to wipe the fog off the inside windshield.

Unfortunately I did as well. Takes a little more finesse trying to find the sweet spot on the manual temperature adjustment. Makes you appreciate it though.

If people do have success with it I suppose one could get creative and wire a manual on/off to one of the aux switches.

I never had a defrost problem yet! I still have heat! And when it is cold it is dry! You do t need the A/C !
