Yeah. Jeep definitely has it over the competition with the windshield folding down!! Probably should wear eye protection though. ? ?
And get the windshield tie down. I just about had my windshield flipp up while I was driving.

I have had several of all three plus a boat. They are all a blast and I enjoyed all of them. Which is the best? It depends on the weather, my mood and my age. I enjoy the Jeep almost everyday. I no longer have a motorcycle. I was set to buy a new HD, but my mommy (i.e. wife) didn't like the idea. Maybe when I grow up. :)

Thought I love both, if I had to choose, I'd lean to the sports cars. You are right as I refer to both of my vehicles as "my toys"...The Vette is the frivolous toy, while the Jeep is my more responsible toy. ?

Off-roading and playing in the snow is fun, but to me, there is nothing quite like the feeling of hitting your marks just right and making a good hot lap on a road course:

Did you ever drive your jeep with the doors off, top off and windshield down all at the same time? If not do it and then let me know if you change your mind? Honestly curious. It will be the first time for me as well when I get mine. And I'll be able to compare and give my opinion too after awhile since once I get the Jeep I've owned all 3.

Ridden bikes for over 45 years, I literally grew up on 2 wheels and currently have 6 in the stable. The sportiest car I’ve owned was a BMW 330xi but I’ve driven a bunch of fast, sports cars in the past but none have given me the power to weight ratio thrill a bike does. Someone said it about a sports car but it applies to motorcycles as well, well at least the ones I like to ride: there is nothing like hitting the apex perfectly. And just feeling the bike and you move as one as you accelerate, slow, twist, turn, read the road (or dirt) in front of you, search for traction, lose it, get it back, find the edge……you feel alive and nothing else matters at those moments. Its absolutely amazing.

Cars and trucks have always been utility vehicles to me, a way to get to and from work or get my non-road legal bikes to the fun stuff. Nothing really more.

Having said that, I bought my first Jeep in late September after always wanting one. I told my wife 2 weeks later if I had to give up 2 wheels for some reason I think I would be fine it with just having a Jeep. Every trip is an adventure: to the store, to work, around the city, in the country, whatever, it’s a fun drive. And when I’m done with work I pop the Sunrider back, put on my shades and I’m comfortable sitting in traffic with the wind on me not putting on gear, helmet, etc wondering if the person behind me sees me. It’s not the same feeling as a bike, but it’s one that’s so very close to the same: freedom.

Have grandkids now and decided the Jeep is a better option. Had all the bike options and nothing is more fun than a plated dirt bike, but as a young one I would bounce, now things just break. In the sportbike days, when they squeezed tight and resisted the lean you know you had your passenger on the edge, that was fun. Chillaxing nowadays with the tunes and the faces of my family and friends beside me and the comfort of a roll cage as I still get on it makes me smile today. I still want that damn KTM 500 EXC-F though, we’ll see.

Having owned all its an easy pick. Jeep!!! Health and age make riding motorcycle not safe anymore, my mustang convertible was too low to fall down into and nobody wanted to ride in boat anymore so Jeep wa they obvious choice. Of course my current Jeep is my 20th one I have owned so I am kind of biased.

Full disclaimer: I live in the rust belt, an see a ton of snow, so I came from a place where a 4wd vehicle is a necessity in my opinion.

It's all personal opinion, but at this point, for me: it comes down to usability- What's your end goal?

I don't like things that "show" and generally hate show and shines. I don't mind going to car shows to see classic/ cool vehicles, but for me- seeing an all original classic muscle car that's never even done a quarter-mile pass is boring. it might as well be in a museum. Add to that, the fact that people only ever drive them (optionally) for2 months out of the year and the allure of ownership is completely exhausted.
And don't get me started on all the people who add custom paint, lights, engine mods, etc on modern vehicles and also never take them to the track. Why did you spend all that money if you're never going to use it (and yes, this applies to the show and "shine crowd" with Jeeps and trucks too. I'm going to be the terrible person I am and say it- YES, I'm probably laughing at you for this).

Personal experience:
I had an 06 Charger Daytona and it was a blast. But if it was anything other than a daily driver, it would have starting costing a lot of money to make it go faster/ handle better.- And it would still sit parked for 6(ish) months out of the year because I live in the Northeast. Would still love a Charger/ Challenger, but honestly I don't know what I'd even do with it at this point.

Motorcycles follow the same sort of thinking for this but get a little more leeway in my book: I think they're awesome, and would love to have one but I can't justify it with my vision concerns. You don't NEED to race motorcycles, but they do still sit in the garage for 6ish months in my area, and it gets harder to do longer distance trips for certain people- so if that's your thing, you end up needing to put extra money into a trailer and tow set up.

Sure, the same can be said for Jeeps- but for my use case I can drive it to work everyday, not worry about shitty road conditions or speed bumps/ bad roads/ dirt or gravel parking lots- and I can still get out and explore on the weekends. Plus, I can take my family on road trips as well. Win/ Win for me.

I've taken the top off quite a few times, but only taken the doors off a couple times, and never dropped the windshield. I've owned several convertibles, t-tops, targas, etc...but driving the Jeep with the doors off was a totally different feeling. I guess just more air hitting you from different lower/side angles, if that makes sense. I honestly didn't find it all that fun driving with the doors off over 45ish MPH, but that's just me. I know a lot of others obviously do. Might have been a more normal feeling to someone who rides motorcycles, which isn't something I've ever had a yearning for. I've always kept my adrenaline rushes tied to four wheels. :)

Then again, I also spend a lot of time detailing and "shining" my toys, too...presumably while RubiSc0tt is apparently somewhere laughing at the notion. ?

Fixing stupid....
Motorcycle, no question.

I have always loved speed. (When i was younger i got many certificates attesting to my speed…..also called tickets)

i raced cars for a while (closed coarse road racing) and loved it.

back in 2010 i road a motorcycle for the first time, bought one, and a few months later i went to racing school for bikes. After 2 years of track days i sold my street bikes and switched to racing full time.

easy way to explain how it feels to race superbikes - it is simply the most fun you can have with your clothes on. (Or in this case a 20lb leather airbag suit, helmet, gloves, and boots)

I love my jeep, and it provides great fun & surprising practicality, but it is not even in the same league in terms of outright fun.

I love my Jeep, but really miss having a roadster in the family (have had an MGB, two Miatas, and my husband had a 981).

Hwy 1 in a Boxster is heaven :involve:.

I was always a sports car guy then I had bikes too but no reason to have either in this city to just sit in traffic or get hit by a purple haired kid watching TikTok. So Jeep it is!

Wranglers are great, and very versatile. I've owned many over the years. I don't have as much "fun" in them as I probably could, i.e. off-roading, because I don't feel like damaging a $55k vehicle.

I've also owned many very fast muscle & sports cars. That's an entirely different type of fun. But like the Jeeps, I limit the "fun" to a level that is safe and protects the vehicle (& my wallet). For me there is nothing quite like firing this thing up & rowing through the gears on a twisty mountain or country road:rock:
