After 12+ years and 4 Wranglers, my JLU is gone and it's time to move on. I appreciate all of the camaraderie, discussion and advice received through this forum and the forums that came before it.
Maybe I'll see y'all down the road on the jmwranglerforums or jnwranglerforums.
Happy trails

From the video:

"I am departing this intellectual wasteland and all the glassy-eyed animals who occupy it."

:LOL::LOL::LOL:

Seriously, @fjrrider, take it easy, man.

Glad someone got it and it's nice to see that some other people can't help themselves but to be a dick about things.
I enjoyed reading, learning, sharing in the misery during the build waiting games, hearing about experiences, etc. and wanted to express my appreciation...that's all.

Yeah, this is a chance to find out what people are made of. To find out who can't peel back the veneer to provide a hail-fellow-well-met moment. To not succumb to the cynicism that goads the humanity out of us.

How odd that the welcome responses are nice while the departure responses are dicey. It's a script, isn't it?

But at least the parts in between are worthy to remember.

not trying to pry, but what happened to your JLU ? Figured you sold it.
I was curious as why after being such a loyal jeep lover over the years, your departing from the family ? ( if its not too personal to share).

From your heartfelt sign-off, I'm sure you will be missed, so come back and say hi sometime.

Good luck with what comes next ?

Thank you very much. It was a combination of a few things. My wife and I are starting to get up there in age and while the fun hadn't gone away, the practicality just isn't there any more. My wife has a nice comfortable ride and we were always taking it anytime we'd go anywhere, so we were racking up the miles on her's while the Jeep just sat there (the last 2 Jeeps I had for a total of 4 years and combined 22,000 miles). Additionally, we care for my elderly mother in law and while she definitely wasn't able to get up into the Jeep, she was also struggling to get up into my wife's SUV which sits a little higher. I still needed to have something that was decent in the snow. I had German cars in the past and after a bunch of consideration, I ended up with an Audi Q5.
I'm sure I'll miss it when the weather turns nicer, but maybe now I'll ride my motorcycle more. Ever since getting my first Wrangler, the bike hasn't gotten much action as I was spending more time enjoying the sunny days with the top down.
Appreciate the kind words, Michael.
