V8 Wranglers begin at ~$75K, and only go north from there.

The heart wants what the heart wants.
My comment really wasn't about the price but what the dealership items tacked on for the $4k. I mean it now has a yearlong paint warranty ?

Oh, no doubt. I gritted my teeth when the Honda dealer did something similar with the new CR-V that my wife purchased. It was her money to spend, though, so I bit my tongue as it concerned the little add-ons.

I bought my 2018 JL from a dealership 200 miles from where I live because I didn't want to build one and they were the only one that had the exact configuration I wanted within driving distance (white fully loaded sport s with manual tran). I got a pretty decent deal, too. Except for the first oil change, I never went back.

One time in the gym, I finally convinced myself to approach this cute blonde girl that I had been eyeballing for a while. She was nice about it and we later became friends. Turns out, she is the service/warranty manager of a local dealership. Although she never agrees to go out on a date with me, my dealership experience has been awesome since I met her. She always takes care of me for any recall or warranty issues. I had the heated steering wheel stop working 3,000 miles pass warranty. I removed everything attempt to fix it myself only to find out I need a new wheel and a clock spring. She took care of me free of charge.

One time, she even let me test drive the Hellcat challenger while I was there waiting.

I try to work on my Jeep as much as possible. To most of dealership techs, it's just a job to put food on the table regardless of what kind of cars they work on. No one will pay as much attention as you do to your own Jeep.

With that being said.. any tip to get her out on a date is welcome.

Just ask @cosine he knows!
sometimes shit happens. I wouldn’t consider a scanner or flashlight left in the floor as bad as 23 loose lug nuts.
Or a steering gear box that was just snugged down w/ the fluid cap left on the side of the motor :headbang: :angry:

I know, right?
She oversees the service department and does warranty paperwork.

With all the Low stock due to chip shortage when we went to Kia for my daughter (She wanted the K5 Stinger) they had sticker with the Market Value price increase of $6,000 over Window sticker. Not counting all the Aftermarket add on package. Since I knew the former Jeep sales manager from my dealership was there it was easy to make that Market Value price go away. They try to use Low stock to kill buyer. Helps to make friends with dealership people cause sometime they come in handy.

I hate markups, but I can see dealers using them to hold onto their inventory and not have an empty lot.

This was the Subaru dealership, right next to my CDJR dealer, a couple weeks ago.

IMO, a better approach would be to slap a sign on the vehicles in stock “For Display Only. Not For Sale” and offer every customer walking in to place a factory order for the exact vehicle they want at, or slightly below, MSRP.

i haven’t seen many mullets in the new charger/challenger. But lots of gold teeth. Could just be my area.
my area it's DGDG dealer group - typical customer get the longest possible loan with the smallest down payment then meets up for the nightly side show -

This goes back in time a ways, but I will never forget it..lol When I purchased my 2013 JKR New. The sales person was doing a walk around with my Wife and I. I opened the hood and the sales person was telling me all about this new inline 6, 3.6 engine..lol Since the WA-580 AUTO, was also new to me, I asked, where is the Trans oil level dipstick. Here is another funny one, per the Sales Person: There is no dipstick, plus this trans is a sealed unit, so the oil never needs to be changed.. OMG..Just unbelievable..☹
