Sorry to hear about your divorce. Shit like that can blind side you out of nowhere. Trust me I know. It happens to me all the time to the point where I'm convinced I'm cursed.

Super stoked to here that your son loves it so much and gets joy from the Jeep. I'm hoping the same will be for my 2 kids. My 12 year old daughter is super excited about the Jeep. She begged me to get one for awhile now. Wasn't hard because I wanted one too long before she was even born. Lol.

I was really reluctant on spending the money because money is super tight in my world right now. But if it can bring joy to me and my kids it will be worth it.
appreciate it... however, once it was all said and done, it truly was a blessing in MANY ways.
thankfully with my job at the time, i was able to work a lot of overtime and am pretty smart with my money so ive made it thru ok. Now with the way things are, yes its incredibly tight.
That said, my son loves to travel, and go and do things. even something as simple as going for an ice cream with the top and doors off is fun..... I am sure your kids will love the jeep. I know my son does. He likes the bike too, i just have to stay within his attention span window lol. that and be mindful of the temperature because air cooled harley...ugh lol.

I’ve never owned a motorcycle and never will - just not my thing. I’ve owned 3 Camaros over the years, including a 2002 SS 35th LE and a 2010 SS. Both were a lot of fun, but where I live in the northeast, they are not vehicles that can be enjoyed 12 months a year. The JL is my first Wrangler (I’ve owned a few Grand Cherokees) and is honestly the most enjoyable vehicle I have ever owned. I can drive it anywhere anytime and I like having that flexibility.
I've owned a ton of Muscle cars myself. Way too many to list. Everything from Camaro SS's to Dodge Challenger Scat Packs. I love them. But like you I live in the Northeast and it's impossible to drive them in the Winter especially in the mountains where I live. Plus the top and doors didn't come off of them in the Summer. Lol.. It does seem like the Jeep JL is the most flexible vehicle you can buy. Both for fun and practicality.

Don’t forget about the potholes where we live too…

Sports cars get my vote. High strung, lighter weight vehicle in the twisties of the Mtns, or on a road course is some serious fun.

Muscle cars can be fun to, but a BMW M4 or 350z is quite a bit more fun to drive than a Mustang or Charger (IMO of course)

I enjoy driving my jeep around. Its more fun that it should be considering its slow and tippy. Top down, doors off, family loaded. It puts a smile on my face, and I don't have to worry about getting a ticket.

I can't comment on the motorcycles. I have stayed away from them my whole life. I have witnessed 3 fatal motorcycle accidents, and was personally hit by a F150 while riding my bicycle to school as a kid. I'm lucky to be alive today, and came to the conclusion that two wheel vehicles have no business being on the road with all the idiots out there.

Wranglers are great, and very versatile. I've owned many over the years. I don't have as much "fun" in them as I probably could, i.e. off-roading, because I don't feel like damaging a $55k vehicle.

I've also owned many very fast muscle & sports cars. That's an entirely different type of fun. But like the Jeeps, I limit the "fun" to a level that is safe and protects the vehicle (& my wallet). For me there is nothing quite like firing this thing up & rowing through the gears on a twisty mountain or country road:rock:

Sold my motorcycle a year ago after 21 years of riding to put funds towards Jeep. Wife was thrilled....a year later I bought another motorcycle. I love the Jeep and we have a lot of great adventures with the family but their is nothing like riding a motorcycle. Each one of my toys serves it's purpose and find they give me enjoyment in different ways.
Best response. I keep thinking that I want another motorcycle back. I sold my last one about two years ago. I used to get my fix when visiting my oldest son and riding his 2019 ZX-10 but he sold it. That bike would do 100+ mph in first gear. You know where most HD are starting to struggle. Wicked fast.

When my Porsche wasn't in the shop, I would say the Porsche was more fun to own than the Jeep. Because I could take the Porsche to go pick up cookies at Target, and that was a great day. Any time I started it up was a great day. The Jeep is only more fun than the Porsche was when I am on something rowdy like Poision Spider or Hells Revenge. I can only do that a handful of times per year. So, only 5-10 really amazing Jeep days per year. But easily 200 awesome Porsche days per year. Unfortunately, the Porsche was constantly in the shop, and that was not only no-fun, it was worse than that. So I sold the Porsche and bought the Jeep. If I could afford a new Porsche that would not be constantly in the shop, I would choose the Porsche.

Still want mine back. But sometimes I talk myself out of it with all the insane dangers that out there on the roads these days. It's like an addiction you can't shake though.

While shopping for a sports car, I drove a convertible Porsche Boxer and then a ZR1 Corvette. What a contrast. The Porsche was smooth and elegant. Not overly fast, but still fun to drive. The ZR1 was like driving a caged predator trying to escape. It was brutal, fast, loud and made me want to push it more and more. Begged to be whipped on. That car required your full attention. There was no way Carla would not kill her self with the ZR1 and I would not be able to keep my license.

That's how I felt about my Muscle cars especially my Challenger Scat Pack. ?

Same here. I basically knew that my days on the bike was limited as Carla stopped riding with me…0n the back or her own bike. Plus I had dam near ride every piece of asphalt in the US and parts of Canada that I wanted to ride. My days of doing either Cannonball type of day rides or 1000+ mile Ironbutt day rides just lost their draw on me. I still think about doing the Ironbutt rally though.

I road Harley's, for about 30 years. I also built Customs. There is nothing like cranking up a Harley, throttle it up to about 65 MPH, and feel the air blowing through ones hair. It is just a feeling of freedom, along with excitement of endless power. But as I got older, I woke up to the realization that my time was coming. A accident was inevitable. So one day I said that is it, I am done. So then I moved over to Jeeps and UTV'S, and have never been unhappy that I did.. ?
Windshield down, doors and top off, pretty close to motorcycle.

I voted Sports car.

I would separate muscle car from sports car, though.

I owned a number of Dodge Challengers with the 392 and now own a Fiat 124 Spider that weighs 2,300 lbs and has only 170 HP.

In the Challengers I had to be going fast to have fun; in the Spider I can have as much fun at 10 MPH as at 100, and dropping the top is a breeze. It is one of the most fun cars I’ve ever owned.

Research factoid - on this forum, the poll choices will always be heavily biased towards "Jeep"; the other categories do not have equal chances of being selected.

Yeah. Jeep definitely has it over the competition with the windshield folding down!! Probably should wear eye protection though. ? ?

Though I love both, if I had to choose, I'd lean to the sports cars. You are right as I refer to both of my vehicles as "my toys"...The Vette is the frivolous toy, while the Jeep is my more responsible toy. ?

Off-roading and playing in the snow is fun, but to me, there is nothing quite like the feeling of hitting your marks just right and making a good hot lap on a road course:
