If all else fails, I'd swap it. It's not like you're going to get anything $$$ for your factory plastic bumper.

WHAT! You actually got $80 for a plastic sport bumper! I'm not sure if I could even accept that much from someone. Well good for you bro! You wouldn't want to buy mine for $40 would you? You can sell it for $80, not a bad profit. Let me know.We all feel the same way about the plastic bumpers.. but I just got 80.00 for my sport S bumper with the close out panels. I have a Rubicon plastic that I got for free on my Jeep now. And there’s a market for plastic Rubicon bumpers in my area.. so I don’t wish to throw it away. There was practically a bidding war over my sport bumper. Guys were offering more than asking…
I kept my sport bumper for this very reason. So when I got the free Rubicon plastic; I was okay with selling myThose stock parts come in handy w/ trade-ins. $1000 bumper off, $80 bumper on. The dealer certainly isn’t going to give you more $$$$. ?
I'm running out of room in the garage and my shop. I'm reasonably sure someone from CT makes an occasional trip to VA. Help me out bro, I need a buyer. Sell, Sell, Sell!I kept my sport bumper for this very reason. So when I got the free Rubicon plastic; I was okay with selling my
Sport bumper. When the time comes down the road, the rubi plastic will go back on.
Personal experience here for you, if it helps. This is completely random, I have a 2 door and my Jeep will be fully occupied. I found a mopar steel bumper for an excellent price that coincides with a trip I’m taking.
my question is if I take the ends off, Will the stubby portion of the bumper fit in my trunk or should I start My trip without a bumper and bolt it on; on the spot?
Who made your deck, cover?Maybe at an angle standing up, but would be TIGHT. You could just swap out the bumpers when you get there and trash the stock plastic one. ?

TuffyWho made your deck, cover?
I was checking that out too, that's pretty slick!Tuffy
I like this option if its not too far. I would tape off the fog light connector if you think you will see rain. Its pretty quick to get it on if you have an impact and swivel adapter. Mine took a few min to massage getting the bumper on since the bolts are tight.I appreciate everyones comments. I have my soft top on currently.
I’m thinking no bumper is the way.
I know this is off topic, but pls tell me about the platform you have in your Jeep, for example, brand or was it DIY, dimensions, etc. Thanks.Maybe at an angle standing up, but would be TIGHT. You could just swap out the bumpers when you get there and trash the stock plastic one. ?
