I have been known to imbibe a bit too much of my favorite bourbon and get a bit too spirited/optimistic regarding modifications for my Jeep.

What seemed perfectly logical and made total sense after four drinks on a Friday night may not seem all that great when one sobers up.

What have you ordered that didn't quite live up to expectations a week or so later?
Amazon should really have a breathalyzer function so you have to breath into it before the order goes through. It would save me a ton of money.

Oh believe me don't think the thought hasn't crossed my mind.

But it takes a lot of work and time to get credit scores that start with the number 8. I'd really like to not have to repeat all that.
A credit score in the 80's is not that hard to achieve. After further though, I would bet it would be rather difficult to get a score that low.

I'm fairly confident they want to make it easier for us to make even more stupid orders, not less.

Don't worry I've got plans. I'm doing the Jeepers jamboree Rubicon trail next July.

I've decided on a metalcloak 2.5" lift and I'm going to need 37s. Along with some other supporting mods that'll be done this spring hopefully.
Go for a 3.5" with 37's. I did a 2.5" and upgraded, it would hit at times.

Haven’t read a single post on this thread, but you’re my spirit animal. Same, bro. Same. 🤣

Hit what? I'm not going any higher than that. In fact it's already higher than I want to go.
The underside of the fenders. In the end, it all depends on what kind of off-road are you going to do. If it's pretty much trail riding with some heavier stuff, two and a half will be absolutely perfect.

Some trails we were on articulated the suspension a lot and it would hit. I just didn't like it rubbing all the time. I could have changed the fenders but that would have made the overall OEM look I was trying to maintain go away.

Without question the 2.5" lift will ride infinitely smoother than the 3.5".

The progression:

And here with the 3.5" lift:

I have new fenders that will solve that problem for me.

I just got to find time to do the inner fenders/flares someday. I've had lifted vehicles in the past and it's not as easy to get in and out as it was 20 years ago so I don't want to go any higher than absolutely necessary.

You should be all set then. See the post above I added the progression of the tire sizes and the lifts.

So, the mod that prompted this thread was the...

I am single. My best friend is a 90lb Belgian Malinois mix that is a handful. He needs a mission and a project at all times. Naturally, he rides with me as much as possible. I currently have him in the rear seat area.

So, my cargo capacity is limited to the cargo area. I saw the Hooke cargo rack and thought it would be a great solution by letting me stack gear on top of the rack.

But, now that I have sobered up and considered reality, it seems that with that rack installed, I could not haul anything tall in the back, nor could I put my dog in the cargo area and fold the back seats into place if I needed to haul more than one passenger.

I think the product is good quality and is perfect for storing more gear in a specific overlanding application.

But for daily real world usage, I think it might not be great since it restricts the height of items that can be hauled in the back.
