If we see *one* of the concept Jeeps at this year's Easter Jeep Safari in Moab with a Hurricane in it, then I think Model Year 2025. If we see *more than one* concept Jeep with the Hurricane, then MY 2024. I think it's a near certainty that we see a third generation electric only concept Wrangler, and my money is on a 4-door.

I wonder if the engine bay in the JL is long enough for an inline 6. The old XJ wasn't designed for the 4.0 and they managed to squeeze that in, but today's crash regulations are different.

Predictions (from my arse)..

2024 JM is announced soon at one of the Ohio Int'l auto shows, with order banks opening in April and production starting in July. Mostly looks the same, but with the new 20th Anniversary grille. No i6 engine (at least initially, maybe a few years later), no 392, no diesel, no 3.6L.. just 4xe and 2.0T. No manual and no 2-doors outside of export and maybe the Rubicon. Little larger updated uConnect on all trims, LED standard on all trims, prices go up across the board (again), the new tiny '23 US flag sticker is removed and replaced with a larger one underneath the Wrangler sticker. Nothing else interesting is changed, just little things here and there to continue saving a nickel or two per unit.

Just pessimistic guesses ?

Limited time offer- supply limited- on current offers- Hurry Buy Now . ?……. Pessimistic— adjective— little hopefulness, gloomy…….. nope, doesn’t say incorrect, wrong.?

If the interior is going to undergo any changes, they will squeeze in the new UConnect into the dash. They have been stalling this for couple of years now and it is long due.

I can't imagine they will end production of manual transmission this early in the electrification process. I would give it another 3 years before they fully sunset manual. If they are smart, they will give people some heads up to put in their manual orders.

My new truck has UConnect 5. It's a train wreck. There are countless threads on the Ram forum discussing problems with it. If I could go back to UConnect 4 I'd do it today. Be glad that Jeep has held on.

I'm still waiting on the Gull Wing Doors (removable) option.

When the 3.6l V6 dies, it'll take the 6-spd transmission with it. No new engines are being adapted with a manual.

The LED light group will not be standard equipment. Why do that when you can score an extra grand from everyone who scribbles AD6 on an order sheet? It's free money for Stellantis.

U-Connect 5 is only a supply chain straightening away. Makes sense for Stellantis to standardize across all the lines and as soon as they can secure an exta 200K units per year we'll see a modifed dash to squeeze it in.

Cause literally everyone else is making them standard? Heck, LED lighting is now standard on even the cheapest Honda Civic trim.

It just makes Jeep look incredibly bad and noncompetitive by not including them for "free" on a $40k to $60k+ vehicle (I fully expect they'll raise MSRP to compensate, like they did with the "free" premium Alpine system on the Rubicon trim, even though LEDs likely don't cost them much more than the halogen this late in the game).

Not that I'm likely to be in the market again before the JM drops, but I hope whenever they redo the interior, they don't go full touchscreen. I don't think they will, but they do a bunch of other stuff, so who knows.

No one needs a 10"+ touchscreen in their freakin vehicle, IMO.

The biggest things I'd want to see in an interior refresh:
  1. Electronic parking brake (so that the Advanced Cruise Control doesn't just turn itself off when you end up stopped)
  2. Cooled Seats *option*. It's ridiculous to only have heated seats in a vehicle that's likely used more in hot environments vs cold.
  3. Power port(s) in the dash tray
  4. Wireless AA/Carplay (Needs Uconnect 5, but they've used Uconnect 5 on an 8.4" before, so stick with the smaller screen)
  5. I don't know how, but I'd like to see them reconfigure the center dash control panel. There are dedicated buttons for things I've never used - would be cool to have user-configurable buttons (like the AUX buttons) that I can change in the settings
  6. Swap the steering wheel audio controls, so that volume is properly on the left and track is on the right.
  7. I'd like to see a wireless charging pad, but TBH, I don't know where on earth they would put it, realistically. The top of the console is NOT a good option, IMO (that's where my elbow goes).
  8. Adjustable-angle headrests (ala 2022 Compass)

Not popular, but personally, I'd love to see them do away with the fold-down windshield, and use the opportunity to redesign that whole area/system to be *slightly* more aerodynamic and less crack-prone. I don't need a full-on space ship, but even a slight curve would be better, IMO, and the % of owners who have ever folded the windshield down has to be miniscule.

That will be a sad day indeed.

Hopefully it doesn't happen anytime soon. The 3.6 is cheap to produce and reliable, so I expect them to milk it as long as possible.

As I've maintained in other threads, the JL probably won't change much until 2028 or whenever the next generation launches. Don't expect UConnect 5, the Hurricane, a new dash, or other major tweaks; they'll likely keep this platform as-is for as long as they can. If anything, they may further strip features to save production costs as they already have with things like eliminating the engine cover, sharing a single instrument cluster across all ICE models, getting rid of the tail gate keyhole, changing the lighting dials, etc.

We'll certainly see new appearance packages here and there in typical Jeep fashion, including the the 20A parts ending up as some Rubicon group like the 10A did when it turned into the Rubicon X/Hard Rock. Jeep and Dodge have never been able to keep a one-off a one-off.

I hate to break it to you, but it sounds like you want a Bronco.

Hard no on the electronic parking brake. That's one thing that should never, ever be electronic on an off-roader. I think the Armorlite (albeit somewhat expensive and incomplete) flooring is a good move, it was sorely needed, and hopefully the cargo will finish off the deal.

I'd also like the XR expanded to all trims and engine choices (V6/manual), with the option to bump up to 4.88's with the XR package as originally alluded to in the press release.

Aside from the electronic parking brake, which part of my thoughts suggests that I'd do better with a Bronco? All of these are things that either already exist on other Jeep models, or are common mods that I see people doing anyways.

Dash power ports (Bronco has 2 and a GoPro attachment point)
Wireless charging
Programmable Aux buttons
AA headrests (Badlands trim has this fairly certain)
