If the MOAB would have been available when I ordered my Sahara last March I may have gotten it. I like the raised hood, step rails, black wheels and trim better than my plastic steps and chrome accents.

They should have called it "Everglades" or "Wetlands" edition instead of "Moab". LSD+automatic transfer case+mild lift+mud tires is actually the ideally combo for folks that want to traverse marshy terrain.
Or how about Mojave, or Sonora, or Uwharrie, or Normandy, or anywhere not The Rubicon trail but someone will still get upset because there's somewhere there that has some rocks for crawling on?

maybe they need a little Pon Farr. Seems to help Vulcans.
Maybe that would help... except their Jeeps attract more Broskis than girls... :giggle:

I had some trouble getting the Moab into the mall parking lot. The grade on the driveway entrance was really steep. Luckily two guys in a Rubicon had got there before me. They wenched me up the grade. They were chained to a bumper post. His spotter done a really good job guiding me in. Thanks men!

Some of us don't need dual locking diffs and sway bar disconnects (especially in Florida where there is not even a small hill). It's a good balance between the Rubi and the Sahara. The MOAB is a Saharacon. I think mine is bad ass.

Well said...couldn't agree more...nice looking MOAB!

I think all the derision is solely based on the fact that the name doesn't match the features. Most of the JK special editions at least made a half-hearted attempt to do that.

Have you ever tried getting in while it’s raining? The concrete jungle isn’t very cooperative when water is involved.

Freedom Edition... for being more Free!

Altitude.... For driving up high!

Golden Eagle... Comes with a banjo and a confederate flag

JK MOAB had all the same things as the current MOAB but without automatic 4 wheel drive...

Snapped these Sting-Gray MOAB shots at my dealer last week while picking up my Sahara from its 2nd steering damper replacement due to death wobble issues.

Personal preference, but Sting-Gray is a color that looks better with the Moab details than Rubicon.

lol.... WXman has some crazy opinions.... Talk to him about F-150s....
What about F-150s? I've only owned 3 of those from 1992 through 2013, and generally they are among the best trucks on the road. Now, that EcoBust disaster of an engine family they came out with in 2011...that's another story. Could write novels about how big of a mistake that was. But I digress....

As far as the KM2 is concerned, it's widely regarded in the Jeep community that the tire sucks. I mean, how many years was it on the market? 5? 10 tops? When it first came out, guys would pay top dollar for the KM if they could still find them somewhere in the nation. That went on for a couple of years until KM inventory was sold out. Then, they started immediately begging BFG for a better tire, which is why the KM3 went into development so soon.

They say opinions are like yesterdays, everybody has one. But in the last 25 years I've gained a ton of real world first-hand experience with almost all trucks and SUVs on the market and almost all parts/tires for them on the market. So I don't consider my opinions to be "crazy".

Guys excuse my ignorance but what makes the KM2's so bad? is it the noise because at around 70 they do make a whine but nothing I can't block out by turning up the radio? I took a road trip last week from Miami to Jacksonville and they performed fine.

I grew up with CJ-5's and 7's and my dad had a '73 Land cruiser and compared to those these tires are much quieter. I just see that we take a lot for granted now and any minor thing we tend to complain about. So what's the deal with the tires?
