is that something I can replace or is that a complicated process
The CANBUS pieces behind the glovebox door slide/click into place very easily. They're inexpensively sourced online; I purchased two spares on eBay. Unplug the connectors from the originals and plug them into the new ones. Done.

Most members have done it them selves. There is quite a few threads on the canbus connector failures

I think it's very common with this cluster, at least on the 2018's. My wife's JL has been doing this on and off for the last couple of years with the same Push Clutch even though it's an auto and random 999999 or no mileage showing. It seemed to happen more frequently as the batteries aged for us; we changed the OEM batteries out in the summer of 2021 so these new ones are getting close to 4 years old. Initially after we changed the batteries the weird cluster behavior basically stopped, and has slowly resurfaced over the last year so that it's basically every other drive cycle has some oddball thing going on in the cluster (transfer case and rear diff showing Locked even though it's in 2WD and it's a Sport, along with the mileage glitches and such).

FWIW my son's 2020 JLUR has been normal, knock on wood. He bought it CPO 18 months ago and he's put about 20K on it.

my batteries were just replaced 3 months ago and on my most recent test before taking this trip they tested fine using my Motopower tester, I have not gotten the 99999 mile error it just disappears randomly and the clutch msg appears all other things work normally

Well I got back from my out of state travel and proceeded to first use JSCAN to check for any fault codes and there were none so then I reset all ECU’s and then removed the SGW bypass module and start/stop elimanator and put all back to factory original.

I did a few restarts and all seemed normal but then the odometer disappeared again and the clutch message showed up but those are the only two intermittent messages I received so I may go to the local dealer and see what the cost is to have the cluster reflashed but if its really pricey i may just let it go as it works 99% of the time.

I don't get the 999999 odometer reading it just disappears along with the clutch message being displayed but all other parts like trip miles, mpg’s etc… show normal and if I shut if off and go back and start after the EVIC powers off the total miles on the odometer come back and says press brake to start but 99% of the time it works as designed.

I'm sure doing the TSB is not free and I have 91k miles on my 2018 but I will go in and get as estimate on the reflash when I have time.

I’ll see if I can dig out the paperwork when I had it done to see the cost. It’s probably in my file. It “may” have been a part of the diag fee. But things may have changed by now or I could not be remembering correctly.

Has anyone tried disconnecting the battery again to see if that fixes it?

From time to time my mileage does not display or it will show 999999 miles for a short bit. Even had it tell me the outside temp was 800F. Even have had the clutch message in my auto

Don’t feel like paying an hour of shop time to reflash

I’m sure it will be over $100 minimum to have it flashed

Found my service order. $191.28 for the reflash. It annoyed me enough to get it completed. I had just purchased it, and I like to keep my vehicles tip top.

I'm sure its gone up some since you had yours done so when I have time I will go in and give them the TSB number and see what they give me for an approx cost.

I will try this today as I have exhausted all other options other than going to the Dealer which I truly hate doing
