Some of you seem to be under the impression that this is all the result of Stellantis hiring smart people and spending lots of money doing advanced analytics and consumer research. From what I have seen, nothing could be farther from the truth. Jeep has demonstrated time and time again to have its head up its ass, especially in recent years. They just throw stuff on the wall to see what sticks; their pricing 'strategy" is no different.
With regards to Jeep adapting when customers have had enough...well, companies go bankrupt every day because they fail to adapt.
There is nothing magically preordained in any of this. Stellantis is a collection of fallible individuals doing their work with varying levels of competence. There are no guarantees that they know how to do any of it right; some are even winging it as they go.
Now, THAT is the American way of doing business... ?
