With our upcoming roadtrip in a few weeks we'll be driving through Moab for the first time on the way to Monument Valley and eventually the Grand Canyon. I see from Google Maps that there's a number of different restaurants in Moab. Any one in particular that you would recommend as a good place for a lunch? Preferably on (or not too far off) HWY 191.

I've had breakfast burritos from Wicked Brew drive thru, delicious and good prices. Not sure if they do lunch.
Dinner at the Blu Pig was great, BBQ type place.
Dinner at the Moab Diner, food was good and so were the portions. Old fashion style Diner.
Miguel's Baja Grill was good, the ladies getting margaritas were entertaining.
There are loads more places to eat at too. Everywhere I've eaten there was good.

If your just passing through and never been there before, I guess I'd say stop at the Moab Diner. Wide variety of food and an ice parlor too.

Sounds like there are a lot of good options... good to know!

Maybe I should have asked if there are any places I should definitely avoid... :)

Only one right answer. It's a couple blocks off the main drag but entirely worth it.

Last time I was there we stopped for some suds at the brewery. Seemed like a pretty good place to me.

My girlfriend and I have been to Zax, and it's great as well as Sunset Grill great sunset views!

Wait… you liked sunset grill!?

We felt like it was an overpriced fake fancy not very good tourist trap, but that might just be because they’re within a 50 mile radius of Pasta Jays.

Not saying your opinion is wrong. I’m just surprised you had such a different experience. It’s become a running joke with our group. Maybe we just went on an off night ?‍♂

FWIW, I’m stoked you had a good time and I’m not hating. I’m just… surprised ?

I had Pasta Jays one night and I was kind of disappointed. I still enjoyed it though as at that point I was starved and would have eaten anything. I don’t think I’d go back there though.
