I'll be the contrarian - get rubicon flares and 34s, done. It will drive great for your usage. You or nearly any shop can do the flares. Any tire shop can set you up with the tires, no worries about the labor side of things.

1 or two inches of lift isn't going to make or break you on the beach.
Sure, but lifted Jeeps look cool and it's far more than 1-2 inches of lift when all is said and done, especially on a Sport/Sahara. Just my opinion.

Welcome to the forum!

I don’t think anybody does body lifts any more. Wranglers least of all. Wranglers have plenty of space in the wheel wells to accommodate pretty much any tire size.

BTW, a body lift is not the same as spacer lift. The latter is still done by thousands of Jeep owners as a cost-effective way to fit 35s without making a big outlay of money.

Good luck.

for your purposes, spacer lift all day every day. ive installed the RC 2.5" spacer lift on a couple JLUs on 35s and theyre still rocking them over 2 years later and enjoying them with NO issues. i would even recommend combining it with rubicon suspension for a really nice looking lift that still drives great and is cheap and needs nothing else.
I agree on going the spacer lift route. I run the RC 2.5” lift on 35”s. Mine are 17”s though. I do more than beach driving but no issues with this setup in the 3 years I’ve had it.

Anyone going for a small lift. Seriously save yourself some money and consider spring spacers. Pair them with Rubicon springs and long travel shocks and you got yourself plenty of flex and clearance.

AEV spacer lift and some good adjustable control arms for caster. 17” wheels with 35s will offer a much more comfortable ride than the 20s would.

Here's my wife's 22 JLU Sport altitude. We bought Rubicon XR take off suspension (shocks, springs, sway links), longer Mopar lca's, and 305/70/17. All in with labor $1,750. Like everyone else so far has said, you don't need a lot to fit bigger tires. Most of what you are looking for can be found here in the member market place. This is where I have found most of my stuff.

Here’s my last Jeep on 35x12.5s and the Dynatrac Endurosport 2” lift. Comes with fox shocks and is a super simple install. Did it myself after work on a week day in the driveway no problem. It rides like stock, and cost ~$1,500.

Tazer JL will correct speedo calibration , as well as adding many other features

My '18 rolled off the used car lot with this setup already.

Basic (stage 1 or 2) Icon lift w/ 20's & 35's.

No offroading within an hours drive for me either ... the 20's are growing on me, but I'm sure the ride would be a less stiff with some more sidewall.

No body lift, go with spacers. Add shocks and control arms IF needed, according to how much lift.

20s have downsides, as noted above. My Ram came with 20s, I hate the look and the feel AND they dont work as well. Go with 35s on 17s.

This will give the look you want, ride better on street, and do what you want on the beach (or almost anywhere else east of the Rockies)

seems like everyones on the same page about 2" is more than enough lift and they are right. the sahara and sports come 1-3/4" lower than a rubicon. ALL lift kits rate there height off of the rubicon. So a 2.5" lift on a sport is closer to 3.75-4" of lift. I really think the best way to go would be the Mopar 2" lift kit. they run about 1600 bucks plus install and if you get it installed at your local Jeep dealer It will retain your factory jeep warranty. Plus with the 2" kit the Sport will net roughly 3.5". comes out really nice and has a great ride with the fox shocks it comes with. best of luck!

If I were not needing a lot of break-over clearance, I think I'd keep my JLUR low and just use 33s . There are wide 12.50x33 tires as well. A stock rubicon height is easy to get in and out of and handles well.
