I ordered mine in May 2021. I just got the VIN today. Just saying. Being Canadian I don’t have any other answers from anyone. I guess patience pays off.

it’ll be 5 more months until delivery haha

Hey everyone, I'm doing what research I can before ordering and one thing I noticed was it seems like some people are waiting a long time for the Jeeps and some people are getting theirs within 2 months? 2 people I've spoken to have had their Jeeps ordered back in November and they say they haven't even started to be built. Does anyone have any idea as to why this might be? I've heard that there are some items on back order, but does anyone know any specific parts/packages that would hold up an order? I know I have to be patient, but putting in an order and waiting 4 months just to be told it hasn't even been started on would be infuriating. Any insight would be really helpful.
Our 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara was ordered with down payment on 1/22/22. Delivered to us on 2/21/22. Options were cold weather package, headliner, floor liners and chrome door sills. Try Jason Beltran at Hawk Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep in IL. They honor Tread Lightly program.

I ordered my JLUR on Feb 14, 2022 and had a von and vin within a few days. I was told the wait time had just been downgraded from 3 months to 4-5 months the week prior to ordering. I want to get what I want and not what is randomly available, and not guess at what might or might not hold my order up, so I ordered exactly what I wanted. Let the wait begin. I’m just hoping to get lucky and have it before a trip to Colorado in early summer.

I went through Jeep’s Customer Care the other night and thought it was weird that the gal told me they no longer give out the status codes. She said they just tell you the full status, mine was a “firm order “, which meant gathering parts in preparation for the build. I pushed her on it but she maintained the “no codes“ approach. I did get the “full list” of “full statuses“ (sure I did, lol), which amounted to about 8 statuses. Are any of you hearing this “no code” nonsense?

If it helps we ordered our 2018 on 5/14/2018 & it shipped 7/18/18 - if I recall we picked it up a few days later. I just ordered a 2022 Challenger 2/11/22 & was told 10 weeks max, we'll see, it got a VIN 2 after order & was in D1 (scheduled to be built) a couple days after that. I'm not holding my breath as they're built in Canada just the other side of the bridge that was blocked and after build it had to be sent out to have some upgrades installed. We'll see!

Now that you mention it JC has never given me a code when updating my build progress. My dealer updates me with codes though so if you really want them I would ask your dealer. The only codes that seem to really matter reading all these threads is after you get the window sticker is it labeled ‘KZ’ or ‘KZS’. KZ is ready to ship while KZS is ready to ship but sending to storage first. The people having extra long wait times all seem to be in KZS but I have no idea why they get sent there.

Thanks. Yeah, storage doesn’t sound like a good thing. I bought a Gladiator last year, which I traded in on the Wrangler, so this is my second wait in less than a year. Here are the statuses I was given the other night:

Tentative schedule
Firm schedule
Sequenced for production
Framing
Paint
Trim
Built
Ready to be shipped
Shipped
Delivered

when I made my order I was told that you could not get advanced safety group without getting the safety group as well.
Yes, and that is what I found odd about the statement.

FWIW, Also ordered from Jason at Hawk CDJR. Great experience working with Jason. I ordered a JLUR on 1/4/22... but still waiting on parts... no ETA. Not sure what the culprit is, but...

Options:
Auto 2.0L, Leather, Body Color Hardtop/Fenders, Gorilla Glass, Rock-Trac FT 4WD, Steel Bumper, Safety, LED, Tow and Electrical, Cold Weather

I inquired about an order and was told the "Safety Group" could delay the order by up to 6 months (I assume it was chip related). Interestingly, I was also told the "advanced Safety Group" would not delay an order.
Safety Group is a prerequisite for Advanced Safety Group, so no, that doesn't make sense.

I find Jeep Cares to be a mostly useless service. The reps are reading from a script, always congratulating you on your purchase, welcoming you to the Jeep family and if their is a problem, directing you first to your trusted local dealership. Boiler plate stuff. They appear to be entry level phone workers, perfectly friendly and courteous, but not very knowledgable when it comes to anything automotive.

Sometime in the first quarter of last year, they were told that build status codes were not to be given or confirmed any longer. I called back a few times and got someone who was willing to go outside of the rules and give me a code. I hope she still has her job. How hard is it to throw waiting customers a bone? Why all of the secrecy?

Just another case of the dealer not really knowing anything, and most of them dont know anything about production. You should have just asked Kryten what was holding up orders, you would have received the same wrong info. Safety groups are being cranked out on almost every Jeep, every day, it’s not holding up anything.

Ordered from Amy at Coon Rapids Jeep, MN on 10-29-2021. Been in "D" Status since 11/12/2021.

Ordered a Granite Crystal 2dr Sport S, with 3.6 auto, the Tow Package, Tech Group, and Headliner. A simple build in my eyes.

All the detailed phases of a build the codes tell you are not really important to the consumer. They are very important to the builders so they can track progress.

The real phases to the consumer is:

When your build actually starts.
When your Jeep is finally assembled.
When your Jeep leaves the railyard or leaves on a truck if final destination is near the plant.
When your Jeep arrives at the dealer.
