  1. HYDRO BLUE Wrangler JL Club

Yep, not a bad job. I had to buy a step bit but that thing drilled through like it was going through butter. Funny thing, and irritating, was it took me forever to put the little plastic cover back on the left side. Somehow it just would not fit back under the main cover, so after taking the...
  2. XTREME RECON Edition JL Club Thread

3.6L stock Rubicon. Love the XRs, especially for the lift but that was just getting a bit out of my price zone and honestly, this Rubicon can take pretty good care of my needs. If you are still looking for a winch, know that for a Badland you must either space the bumper forward or port the...
  3. HYDRO BLUE Wrangler JL Club

I put the Badland Apex in mine. I smashed it in the first time, jammed the wires hard against the grill, drive around for six months and just remedied that last weekend. One option is spacers but you would also need to drill out the winch plate, so the winch could move forward with the bumper...
  4. XTREME RECON Edition JL Club Thread

With a Badland winch (12k, synthetic line), Arcus bumper and winch plate, no skid plate, mine sagged right about 1/2ā€ at the fenders.
  5. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Nice. I did an Arcus bumper last summer and I did the same thing - overrider on, overrider off, maybe I should try it again. I still need to add a skid plate, what is yours?
  6. First windshield in the books....

I made it about 7000 miles and then got two rocks in one day on my way from Oregon to St Louis. Within a few hours one crack was already 6 inches, both spread like a wildfire once I got to St Louis. After my $50 deductible Iā€™m back in OEM glass and counting down to windshield number three, see...
  7. Gladiator JT Steel Skid Plate on a Wrangler JL - Install & Pictures

The JT skid plate looks sharp, Iā€™m thinking about doing the same but with an Arcus bumper. Does that skid plate bolt to brackets or directly to the frame? In other words, do I need additional brackets? WHOOPS - Looks like you guys already answered this, sounds like it couldnā€™t be any easier...
  8. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Might be lucky you missed that, Iā€™ve read where the steel rear bumper does little more than damage the quarter panels if it gets hit underneath. I passed on the steel because it would basically cost about $1800 for a front bumper without a winch plate or closed recovery points, being that the...
  9. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

My ā€˜22 Rubicon does not have a steel skid plate but your XR package might remedy that. Iā€™m guessing steel bumper and steel skid plate on XRs??
  10. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Thanks. Yeah, lightweight and simple look were high on my list. Currently waiting to see what Rugged Ridge is going to do and then decide if Iā€™ll exchange it, return it, or what.
  11. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Looks great! Did you have any trouble with the winch plate? I went to install mine about a week ago and the plate is 1/8 to 1/4ā€ too wide.
  12. Rugged Ridge Arcus bumper winch plate fitment issue

Well, looks like Iā€™m joining this pathetic club, no offense. Iā€™d say my winch plate is about 1/8ā€ too wide, no way itā€™s going to fit. Super bleep bleep disappointing!
  13. Sliders/Steps while keeping factory rock rails

Yeah, I donā€™t know what they went for in the past, but over 1k, no thanks.
  14. Sliders/Steps while keeping factory rock rails

Thanks, funny thing is, thatā€™s the current system that I need to upgrade. My folding stool has been with me through a Tundra and a 4Runner but itā€™s become too short now that I have the Rubicon. My plan will likely be to use the stool and some form of step/slide. I like the red one though, mine...
  15. Sliders/Steps while keeping factory rock rails

@GATORB8 Those Westins are nice looking, similar to the EAGs referenced earlier in this thread. Iā€™m liking the triple tube designs.
  16. Sliders/Steps while keeping factory rock rails

Those sliders look good, canā€™t say the same for the sliders + rubi rails, yikes. Iā€™ll be in Colorado Springs for a week for a family reunion. Hopefully, I will accidentally get lost from the group at some point!
  17. Sliders/Steps while keeping factory rock rails

Thanks, good to know! I might stretch the budget but I wonā€™t be hiking it up anywhere near the 2k elevation. ps - how much of a discount does that get? Thereā€™s always more stuff to buy.
  18. Sliders/Steps while keeping factory rock rails

Iā€™m not a rock crawler (yet?) but I do try to keep my options open and definitely donā€™t want to put stuff under there thatā€™s just going to snag or break. I noticed the disconnect but wasnā€™t sure how much was still left exposed and and how badly, I should likely take your advice and mount...
  19. Sliders/Steps while keeping factory rock rails

Those are nice looking, how long have you had them and how are they holding up?
  20. Sliders/Steps while keeping factory rock rails

Thanks, I forgot about the hide-a-step, thatā€™s somewhat appealing, one drawback seems to be that they would really take some hard hits from rocks, have you heard anything about that part?
