Just finished potting my sensors. I agree with others, it seems to engage almost instantly. Before it would blink a bit and then engage.

I did run into an issue but it was my own doing. I ended up striping a diff cover bolt so did my best with the rethread but it didn’t work all that well for me. The bolt is in and it’s tight but it didn’t seat all the way. I’m leaving it that way for now as it is holding and didn’t leak. Just means in the future if I ever want to remove my cover, I’ll have to deal with it. Sucks but such is life I guess. Seems to be the luck I have.
It’s all good man. When you take the cover off again, cut them threads once more and it’ll be like new.

Yeah that’s what I figure. I shouldn’t have to worry about it for a while but I’ll cut it again or even use a slightly larger bolt thread and use a bigger bolt to fill it. But again, it’ll be a problem for the next time I have to remove the cover.

This statement is wrong. Please don't spread misinformation based on ignorance.

That harness bypasses the "in-transit" function of the sensor. The harness works at activating the locker magnet, but does not let the driver know of a partially engaged or disengaged locker plate.
It seems I upset both the Biden and Trump camps so I need to put on my 392 pants and admit that I misunderstood how the Z Locker OEM harness functions.

One would indeed not know if the locker has actually engaged because the OEM sensor will be out of the loop and the Z Locker OEM harness simply bypasses the OEM sensor and provides feedback to the Jeep's computer to keep the system functioning without any system errors caused by the faulty OEM sensor.

I might have to go the potting route, unless someone has plans to send a sensor in a little row boat to China to have it cloned and mass produced, as this problem will not go away by a magic spell from the house of Sellantis.

At least I made @word302 laugh more than once and I had @chevymitchell rev his engine at me.

If I was not so far away, I would have gladly donated one of my sensors as a clone.

I’m sure you would sell thousands! I would buy a dozen from you.

I am getting everything together (Tools, potting compound, etc.) to pot my sensors. My first hickup is the link to the potting compound on Amazon takes me to a 400Ml option and nothing smaller on Amazon is available?

That is odd. I just clicked the link in my order and it takes me there. They must be no longer selling that one anymore. Which is weird considering I just ordered it a week ago.

Yeah... That is exactly what's happening (Most of the time). If you pull off a failed sensor, you can tip it and see oil inside of it.

That's only one possible cause to the same light though. Many people are going through many different causes to the same symptom. This is meant to help prevent the majority from needing to wait weeks for a rear axle replacement.

@mgroeger - Do you still have pictures of the sensor off of Fat Ninja? Pic of the oil inside the sensor?

Thank you.
Do you have a recommendation for another appropriate substitute for the MG Chemical 832 HD ? I can only find big bucket size with the original link and gooble searches.

You can Google ELECTRONICS POTTING COMPOUND or ELECTRONICS ENCAPSULATING COMPOUND. You should yield several results doing this.

Well I have everything collected and have a 4 day weekend coming up. I am going to give it a try. No lights or warnings yet at 48k...I’m probably on borrowed time. Measure twice and drill once
