Lock while running

Are you able to leave the Jeep running, get out with the key fob and lock the doors? The reason I ask is if my dog is in the car and I want to leave the AC on while I run in the store or something. Thanks in advance and I searched and could not find what I was looking for.

It's no different than any other vehicle with key fob remotes. I have dogs and have done this plenty of times on beach trips.

Yes! I did this once by accident shortly after getting this jeep - I went to a PT appointment, got out, locked it and walked away. It was so quiet compared to my last one I didn't even notice it was running. I was in there for an hour and didn't realize what happened until I got back.

It should. If it doesn’t, you can turn off the engine, and restart it with remote start.

That’s a very dangerous method for the stated purpose in the OP. Remote start will timeout in 15 minutes and shut off the engine.
