It 100% dims the headlights for you during the day, in case your day time running lights/headlights are a little bright for some other drivers....
LOL JK, definitely dims the floor/foot well area and can be adjusted to your liking. Usually at night I use it. Sometimes I turn it off, Screen off, dim the interior lights if I want to give my eyes a break while night driving. It all depends! I like the feature
