This morning CarPlay was fine on the way to baseball practice. After practice, phone knows itā€™s connected and car knows phone is connected, but pressing CarPlay on screen just goes black and then back to whatever I was displaying before (SXM or navigation, etc). First time in the month Iā€™ve had the car that Iā€™ve had any issues with CarPlay or Uconnect.

Mine doesn't have any of those issues however randomly it wont allow me to change apps. If it is in the radio app and I try to change to media, climate, or nav it wont allow it and the other way around too. I can still change stations with the steering wheel button but it is a pain when I cant get back to nav while using it.

Same with me. I've narrowed down when it happens. For me, it's only after I've been driving, park, shut the Jeep off, then return fairly quickly and start it again. That's when it won't allow me to change apps. So say like getting gas, or running into the store and returning etc. I've noticed that if the Jeep sits long enough and you come back and start it and you get the boot screen again, all works fine. I've also noticed when you can't switch, if you shut down, open the door to kill the power, then restrart the Jeep all is good again. So it has something to do with the Jeep when the Uconnect does a partial reboot rather than the full reboot.

My other issue I'm getting periodially is low volume on the music, specifically Sirius and FM radio. All other audible tones are normal and loud (like favorite song alert audio) but the radio playing is super low and has to be cranked to at least 3/4 volume to even hear it. Then you get the normal volume audio alert and you practically go deaf.

I can't stand the delay. When I first turn on jeep sometimes i have to wait like 20 seconds before I can change volume. It also will sometimes restart. And sometimes it cuts in and out. Its a total piece of shit. I can't wait for some aftermarket head units or adapters to put my own touch screen one. I have a SPORT so i dont have all the integrated crap that others have with Saharas or Rubicons.

Several issues with radio. it's at dealership now and they are replacing it whenever they can get one in. anyways, lower third of screen randomly doesn't work (at one time told it was a low battery problem), volume sometimes gets stuck, get the "EMS broadcast signal," shuts off and reboots.

Mine has been flawless, but I can't say the same for the one in my '18 Challenger, which if I'm not mistaken, should be the exact same unit. It will not properly update changes to my USB stick full of music, so it'll have issues finding music by title or album, but not both. For files it has issues with in regards to the album name, I can call them up via voice command by track name and they work. For files it has issues with in regards to the track name, it'll play them just fine if I voice command by album name. It's the weirdest thing.

My issue with the GPS is if I zoom out for a "radius" past 5 miles, I can see only the main interstate on the map but it no longer labels secondary freeways, or ANY cities or towns along the route. Is there a way to change this? By the way the book that comes with the car is completely useless for anything other than how to take the doors off.

You need a category for Uconnect just pissing it's pants and forgetting who it is every now and then. Mine has just forgotten to show the back-up lines a couple times and forgot that my phone was plugged in once. It's the electronic version of Eddie from Christmas Vacation. :CWL:

Just dropped my JLUR off at the dealership, told them I have a bunch of videos of the radio acting crazy or not responding to anything, the service guy said it doesnā€™t matter if I have video, if the computer doesnā€™t pick up an error code there is nothing they can do... so basically told me theyā€™re going to keep it over night and see what comes up, the problem is.. that it only happens randomly.. ie (why I took videos) you just canā€™t win.. this is the second time I brought it in for radio issues and also now the USB port in the dash board is no longer working...I did the whole kill them with kindness when I dropped it off, but at a loss for words, with solid proof of issues and having to pull the fuse 3-4 times since I had it., doesnā€™t seem to be justification enough...sucks to be me I guess.. @JeepCares

Sometimes to use iphone apps you have to ensure your phone is awake/unlocked. Not a big deal.

guess I got lucky. they are replacing my radio with just video proof. unfortunately it's been two weeks and still no new radio.

i have random and fairly regular freezes. current screen freezes and no touch activation of anything. only solution is power off jeep power on jeep. just turning on and off the screen doesn't fix it.

Annnnnnd I got my Jeep back from the stealership, surprise surprise NOTHING was done or addressed, just like I assumed.. they couldnā€™t find anything on their lil computer, and couldnā€™t replicate the issues on the spot, so even with my video evidence (which they dismissed) and being the second time I brought it in for the same issue ... @JeepCares was involved and was no help, hate to turn this forum into a rant, but Iā€™m just extremely frustrated that I payed a lot for the Jeep and even purchased the extended warranty, and this is the service I received, pulling fuses every couple of weeks and praying every time I start my Jeep that my radio decides to work that day.. is not how the Jeep experience should be, and nothing better then commuting in complete silence or having to pop the hood up and pull fuses in front of everyone just to get my radio to shut off. I have to be 100% honest had I found this forum and read all the horror stories before I traded in my JK.. there is no way in hell I would have purchased the JL... my story is what it is, but some of the horror stories on here are just out right heart breaking... but hey! letā€™s roll out with an unproven pick up truck thatā€™s way over priced and screw all the people with wranglers (that in its second year) and are still having many unaddressed issues...........stay classy FCA :facepalm:
